🄐 Breakfast goals, anyone? Flaky croissants, rich & buttery quiches, and the dreamiest blueberry scone – you’ll find it all at The French Oven BakeryĀ @thefrenchovensdĀ in Scripps Ranch! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the smell of freshly baked bread and the sight of pastries so beautiful they look almost too good to eat. Add in their lineup of breakfast croissants, and it’s pure perfection. Here’s the must-try lineup: ā€ØšŸ³ Breakfast Sandwich – warm, flaky, and oh-so-satisfying ($7.50)ā€ØšŸ§€ Quiche Lorraine – rich, buttery perfection ($8.00)ā€ØšŸ“ Blueberry Scone – fruity, soft, and sweet ($5.25)ā€ØšŸ„ Almond Croissant – golden and flaky ($5.50)ā€ØšŸ« Nutella Brioche – dreamy chocolate hazelnut vibes that needs more Nutella ($4.75)ā€ØšŸ„§ Galette Slice – rustic and irresistible ($4.00)ā€ØšŸ Apple Tartelette – caramelized apple goodness ($4.75)ā€ØšŸ« Chocolate Croissant – a chocolate lover’s dream ($4.50)
For my sweet tooth crew, you’ve got to try the Blueberry Scone (a Chompin Chener fave šŸ’™), the indulgent Chocolate Croissant, and the Nutella Brioche. Don’t sleep on the Apple Tartelette or the Almond Croissant – buttery perfection in every bite. If you haven’t been to The French Oven Bakery yet, trust me, you’re missing out. šŸ“ 10299 Scripps Trail, Suite E, San Diego, CA 92131ā€ØšŸ“² Follow them on Instagram:Ā @thefrenchovensd šŸ…æļø - Parking Lot -ā€Øāš ļø FollowĀ @MarvelousMuncherĀ for the best San Diego recs! #sandiegoĀ #scrippsranchĀ #thefrenchovenbakeryĀ #frenchbakery

Heard this was the best Croissant outside of France my buddy had… so had to go check it out. Unfortunately when I decided to go the lovely staff was on I’m sure a well needed and deserved Vacation. A few of the photos are from then. Today, July 28 2023… however I decided to make the trek once again knowing they were open!! The place presents amazing! Quaint spot in a nice shopping center with plenty of seating for I’d say about 15-20 outside under cover. While waiting the staff couldn’t have been more pleasant and willing to help and explain anything. Super friendly and amazing! Those two alone make it a place to stop back through and support! What I ordered First, 1 BLT Sandwich, Second, 1 Ham and Cheese croissant, Third, 3 Plain croissants and finally 4, 2 Chocolate Chip Cookies Before I get into the scores I must say this place is a must stop if you live in San Diego at least once. The drive is east, once you’re off the freeway the scenery is gorgeous! Worth it! Let me start in the order in which I tried the goods! Chocolate Chip Cookie unfortunately very average 5.2 they do look amazing so I’ll be sure to ask again at some point if they are fresh and I’ll give it another go! Ham and Cheese croissant - WOW!!! damn good! 8.3 BLT Sando - The bread is the winner here but overall not gonna blow my socks off. But if I lived around the corner I’d smash them consistently 7.4 And the reason for the trip the Croissant! I’ve been very fortunate in life to travel quite extensively! If you’re looking for one of those sweet croissants don’t be shocked this is not. Buttery , Savory and a nice salt kick . I’m a fan! Definitely up there for me 8.1 I will add as I stop in and try more! I hope you get a chance to try this lovely bakery! They deserve all the business they get!

We went there for the first time today. What a fantastic first impression and experience. I stopped ordering croissants years ago because nobody makes them the authentic way so it seems anymore. When I asked them today what was the best thing on the menu and they let me know that the croissants were definitely top of the list I thought I would give them a try for Old Times Sake. Oh my goodness what a blessing and special experience for my wife and son it was. The croissants were so flaky you could barely touch them they would just crumble apart. They were absolutely amazing. They were easily a 9 1/2 out of 10. I did the ham and cheese croissant, my son did the plain croissant and butter, my wife did the bacon and eggs croissant. We were all blown away by the exceptional quality and how authentic they were. My wife and son had never truly experienced an exceptional ones before and it was amazing for all of us. Service was fantastic and very accommodating. We were lucky by getting there on the earlier side because we thought they were closed as we were the first ones there and within minutes there was 15 people behind us. It was laughable but we were very fortunate and happy that we were served first. Family owned and operated and a Scripps Ranch local it sounds like. Definitely give them a try and I also heard that the lemon tarts were to die for. A family of four that lived in France were there and all four of them said it was their personal favorite. File that away. Give him a shot you won't be...

In my quest for the perfect croissant, I stopped at the French Oven, hoping to give my co-workers a boost on a busy Friday. I came away with an amazing chicken pot pie, a chicken curry croissant sandwich, a cinnamon roll, and a pretzel, as well as two fresh Croissants. The counter staff were efficient, asked great clarifying questions, and offered to heat something for me if I wished. In addition to the pastries made in-house, TFO also carries French tinned biscuits and novelties. My co-workers gave top marks to the pot pie, the pretzel, the curry sandwiches, and I enjoyed my croissant immensely. The cinnamon roll was good, but it was up against a sourdough cinnamon roll from Texas that so far is unbeatable. :) The shop is quite small inside, and parking is limited. However, there are side walk tables. The staff is extremely focused on moving customers through the shop and quite cheerful. I will definitely be back to try the other pasties and possibly even dinner on a Friday night. I'm still dreaming about the crust on...
