Ficos 1961 Barbacoa — Restaurant in San Germán

We are from the states and this is by far the best meal we’ve had in Puerto Rico (including marmalade) and we’ve been almost everywhere on the island. Everything was amazing and the brisket is the best we’ve had…ever (and my husband fancies himself brisket anytime he can get it). Texas has nothing on this place!

The view is amazing and the owners personally greeted us along with the chef. This is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back.

We had the big meat plate with the assorted meats and added brisket and pulled pork. We also had the house mojitos, soup, potatoes, house salad and all three desserts. All four of us were awestruck by this place.

MARVELOUS view, food and employees. I was so excited when I discovered Ficos online that I called to make reservations so we wouldn't miss out on this amazing experience. We were greeted like family (the good kind) upon arrival and could have sat for hours just soaking in the view (the pix I post will not do it justice). Lovely cocktail for me and beer for my husband to start. The Pechuga Grill and Ribeye Steak A La Barbacoa were perfectly cooked and nicely presented. The desserts (mascarpone and bizcocho chocolate) were divine. Great food and views make the restaurant a 5 star experience...the friendliness of the staff and owner amps it up...

I can’t explain the nostalgia I felt as I was greeted into this beautiful space. Serenity, countryside, beautiful views and amazing food. We met the owners Edgar and Mari, and their lovely family. I want to acknowledge the delicious dinner cooked for us by Chef Brian Lopez. The live music created a perfect atmosphere. We ordered the coal fire chicken with Guama potatoes and salad.
