El Cerezal 2 — Restaurant in San Juan

This is a hidden gem of puertorican cuisine. Minutes away from well know Monte Hiedras Mall, this restaurant serves amazing everyday local dishes packed with flavor. The chicken empanadas honestly were bigger than the plate, crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. White rice and beans were great and "arañitas" were very reminiscent of my mothers cooking. Food was served quickly (less than 15 minutes after ordering) and hot. Prices on food are very competitive, prices for alcohol was $2-$3 for local and international beers, still beats San Juan's $5.00+ / alcoholic beverage. Service was very friendly, bathrooms we clean, inside tables had A/C and outside tables were available. I’ve gone just once to this restaurant and the food was very good. It’s a bit hard to get their because it’s in a rural road so I recommend you look for it on google maps or Waze and let the GPS take you. The dining space is small so you might have to eat outside on some tables they have outside. I ordered Beefsteak with white rice and rose beans and some amarillos(Yellow plantains) and it was delicious. Qué lástima q el dueño Charlie no sepa bregar con el público cuando se le cuestiona algo. Éramos clientes asiduos a pesar de q habíamos tenido prob con su actitud anteriormente. Pero en esta ocasión se pasó de la raya. Antes de ordenar un plato q no estaba en el menú preguntamos ek costo ya q en el pasado nos cobraron más q a un amigo. La empleada nos indicó q tenía q consultarlo y al regresar nos lo indicó y aceptamos ordenarlo. Mi esposo pagó la cta y no hizo la alegación en el momento pero yo llamé y hablé con el dueño luego. Se molestó sobremanera, me llamó mentirosa, me acusó de hostigar a la empleada pues cdo hablé con ella me dijo q la volviera a llamar y así lo hice pero ella no vino al tel, me amenazó con cobrarle el exceso de dinero a la empleada a pesar de q le dije q no iba a reclamar si así era, me dijo q no volviera al rest y por último me colgó el tel.
