This place is amazing!!! I have an inside source hence the reason for eating here. Not your typical tourist location as it is deep in the country / mountains. Run by some amazing people who have created a wonderful atmosphere to truly enjoy some fine Puerto Rican cuisine. Located on the side of a mountain, next to a flowing creek with the sounds of nature all around is quite the experience. Learning the history of how they started to the restaurant today was fascinating and the family style environment made me feel like I was with distant family. If ever possible, I will return here again!!! “UPDATE” I returned 6 months later for another absolutely wonderful lunch experience! Hospitality was nothing short of perfect!! Food is still amazing! I feel so fortunate to be able to experience such amazing culture, people and environment....

Charming place! Very friendly, courteous and attentive people!! The flavor of the food is very good. One of the house specialties, which is based on rice cooked with different meats is very tasty and flavorful, it reminded me of the delicious flavor my late grandma gave to the food!! The skirt steak needs a little bit of improvement in the flavor, but it's texture and softness was excellent. The price of the food is great! The place is beautiful, with a lovely view. It is a family owned business, and the environment is nice and welcoming....

My friends and I visited El Fogón de Cheo on Sunday July 31, 2022. Don Cheo and Doña Mary, its gracious owners, were out of business for a while; but thanks to his daughter Teresa they finally opened their doors. We ate delicious: morcillas, fried pork , longaniza, rice with gandules with smoked meat, tostones. Ah, a craving: stewed beans. All with that tasty country touch of Doña Mary. For desserts: trembleque and excellent cheese flan. Thank you all for accommodating us. We...
