My wife and I came here just to try the pho and they were out. Nevertheless, we decided to try the sushi (we ordered the Dragon roll). The sushi itself was delicious, it was thick and voluminous. The reason why I am giving this place 2 stars is for the following reasons:
When the waitress brought the plates and the silverware she forgot to bring the soy sauce dipping plates, ginger, and wasabi. "Fine, she'll probably bring it when the roll comes," I thought.
She brought the roll and she promptly offered the bring their in house soy sauce mix. "Ok, she'll bring the dipping plates, ginger, and wasabi," again thinking to myself. She came back with soy sauce mix and a bottle of chipotle/mayo sauce and left to tend to some new customers that had just came in. My wife and I stared at each other, confused as to why we didn't get the dipping plates, ginger, and wasabi as well.
After I got the waitress' attention, I asked for the items in question. She told me that she wasn't sure if there was any ginger but if there was she would bring it right away. She returned with the dipping plates and some ginger and to tell us they had ran out of wasabi...

Obviously this is not a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant and I understand that there is a Mexican flair to it; but (please take note) if somebody orders sushi, please provide dipping plates for soy sauce, pickled ginger to cleanse your palate, and wasabi which neutralizes bacteria that causes food poisoning when consuming raw fish. Also you might want to add a soy sauce bottle and a napkin dispenser at each table.
Also I know that not everyone around San Luis eats with chopsticks but it wouldn't hurt to ask if we...
Read moreBeing the first time I visit this restaurant I wasn't too sure on what to order. So I went with the lunch special and it was a pretty good deal. Half a sushi roll of your choice, I chose the tempura since it's usually my go-to and it was good. It came with a fried jalepeño/shrimp popper and that was delicious. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the teriyaki chicken. It was very generic tasting, nothing special or different. Other than that, the service was great and the rest of the food was...
