My experience was overall underwhelming and food was disappointing. I give Amalfi and Enoteca Italiana 2 out of 5 stars because there are many things that can improve. The restaurant can improve in several areas, such as, timeliness, food preparation, and customer service.
This is a wonderful place to host an event. We held a rehearsal dinner here on a Thursday night for our son's upcoming wedding. My son and his bride chose this place and I'd never seen it. The photos don't do it justice; the space is so nice, clean, and upscale, set on a golf course with a wraparound patio. We chose this over their larger restaurant because we were able to have a private party here, as opposed to being in a larger restaurant setting among other diners. We had a buffet for 32 people and there was plenty of room. The food was truly delicious and beautifully presented, including a caprese salad with burrata, meatballs, a house salad, Rigatoni Bolognese, Beef in a red wine sauce, pesto penne, a chicken dish with smoked mozzarella in a cream sauce, a delicious eggplant parmigiana, veggies and potatoes, 4 different pizzas, and tiramisu and cannoli for dessert. To say we were stuffed is an understatement. All of the food was very, very good. We then hosted a welcome party for an additional 30 or 40 people, with drinks and pizzas. Plenty of space with a good wine selection! They dimmed the lights for us and turned up the music and everyone had a great time! Maybe the most outstanding thing is the staff and service. Excellent service with a smile and they went above and beyond to ensure our party was enjoyed by all. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this place and highly recommend it if you are considering it...
Read moreTwice I have come to Enoteca and I was met with a closed restaurant despite talking to the manager directly before going there. The last time was truly problematic - I had an event planned there for 18 women. I had spoken to a shift manager, a waiter, the marketing manager, and the restaurant manager all through the week leading up to the event. My last call to them was the day before. I arrived at Enoteca before my event to get set up, and once again I was met with a locked door. No one had contacted me, despite the venue having confirmed all throughout week, and they had both my phone number and my email. I had 18 women enroute. I scrambled for 45 minutes and was rescued by the Marina Bar in the large Amalfi restaurant on Lake San Marcos, which I recommend highly.
I left a message for Enoteca, which they did not even bother to return. I saw the marketing manager at the Marina Bar and he didn't even acknowledge me despite our speaking in person at Enoteca and our...
