Tyee Coffee + Goods - The Lake — Restaurant in Sandpoint

As a mama sometimes it can be intimidating to go into places with your two young children by yourself. BUT mama needed coffee and the tyee totally delivered. Not on just delicious caffeine and a breakfast sandwich. They also hooked up my 2 year old with a hot chocolate with SPRINKLES. If you have kids you know it’s the little things. They gave her a free sticker. Again if you have kids then ya know and they were so sweet. Sat with her as I browsed all the fun goodies and then sat with my newborn as I took my big kid potty. I’m here at this coffee shop 20-30 times a year. I try to take into consideration the difficulty in hiring for the summer and the limited pool of quality workers. Is the quality of my drink always perfect? No. Are the employees at the top of their game every day for the whole day? No. Can I give them and the owners grace? Yes. On average I leave feeling I was treated with respect and had coffee and a pastry that met all my expectations. We stopped by the lake for a couple days to visit family. One night, we walked up to the general store there. They really didn't have what we wanted, so we headed to Tyee. We got all that we wanted there, plus ice coffee and ice cream! Their gift shop was cute and their coffee shop was awesome--even had a place to chill with wifi! I traveled 5500 miles this summer from Idaho to Virginia and never had a better iced coffee than the one Tyee made!! I highly recommend this place for locals and out-of-town guests!!
