Sandusky Book Bar — Restaurant in Sandusky

I recently attended the Adult Book Fair at the Sandusky Book Bar and was absolutely charmed by the entire experience. The space is cozy, welcoming, and filled with character. It's a perfect blend of bookstore and bar. Their small but thoughtful selection of new and used books makes browsing a joy, and the atmosphere invites you to linger with a good read.

The event itself was fantastic. I had the chance to meet all five featured authors, chat with them, and get my books personally signed, a true treat for any reader! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the drink menu offered something for everyone, from delicious coffee creations to well-crafted cocktails.

Starting off with the good side of this experience: The place was clean, the coffee was very good reasonably priced, the cheese board had a decent selection.

The downside: biggest disappointment. Most of the books I picked up were ragged, broken spines, spines coming off (children’s fairy tale), dog eared, just overall not a pleasant selection, and over priced for the ones in decent condition. The books I did find to purchase were “decorative” and not for sale despite being on the shelves with the rest of the books. (they need to put NFS on the books that are decorative). This is a hipster coffee bar with a few bookshelf’s of dead books.

Janie and her crew are awesome! The place is very well decorated and gives a calm feeling that makes you want to be there for hours! Janie and her crew make you feel super welcome and do their jobs amazing! It is one of my favorite spots in Sandusky to go to! If you have not been there you need to go immediately!! The coffee is great, the atmosphere is great as well! All around great place with great people!
