Stopped by this evening (Thursday) for dinner, first time dining here. We were quite impressed with the quality of the food as well as the service (shout out to Kayla, our server, who was attentive, energetic, and enthusiastic throughout our dining experience). We started with fried calamari which was accompanied by a marinara sauce on the side and lemons. The fried squid was delicious, clean, light batter, and greaseless. The marinara was subtle with just a hint of spice allowing the flavor the squid to shine through. This was followed by a very large Caesar salad--fresh, large leaves of romaine, home-made croutons, and just the right amount of dressing. We both opted for the veal piccata. We both took our first taste, looked at each other across the table and just smiled. These were the best pieces of veal we've had in a really long time. The veal was extremely tender, lightly fried/sautéed, with just the right amount of flavorful sauce containing a few representative capers and just a hint of lemon juice. A totally memorable meal. Obviously we did not "explore" much of the menu, but that only means we need to return soon to continue to sample their culinary delights. Kudos to the owner (Carlo)--who we spoke to briefly--for bringing his passion for and extensive experience with Italian-American cuisine to this new restaurant...
Read moreDined at Carluccio’s for the first time last night. I can’t say enough about the customer service, ambiance, and especially the food. We had to wait for the last couple in our party of six and the owner introduced himself and showed such pride in that his family helped to provide our dining experience. He then brought some of his homemade meatballs to tide us over. As soon as I tasted those delicious meatballs, I knew our meal was going to be just as good. I had the seafood a diavolio which was incredible! My wife, who is a veal parmigiana connoisseur said it was the best she’s ever had. All of their pasta is homemade and their desserts come straight from the North End’s Modern Pastry. Our server Devin, couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a perfect meal and a perfect evening. Five stars is not enough for this review. We’ll definitely be returning to this fine dining...
Read moreWe went there this evening (a Saturday) to try this restaurant again after having a not so great experience awhile back. Things didn’t go well. First and foremost, there was entertainment in the bar area, where they also have several tables and booths for dining. There was a young lady singing (Katie) and she was unnecessarily loud and not very good on top of that. The volume was intolerable and only made her singing seem worse. I asked our waitress to ask her to lower the volume a bit, but either the request was never made, or the singer declined to accommodate the request. A restaurant is not a nightclub and having music is great, but it should never overwhelm the dining experience. The food took far too long to arrive, was of lukewarm temperature, and very bland and basic. Very expensive for food more in line with Olive Garden. We...
