Staying a week at Ponce City we headed to this restaurant seeking for new taste and some music. I read again reviews making sure where locals do eat good and have a nice romantic view. My husband decided this restaurant was it. We drove there, we got a bit surprise the outside was not so big and thought would be tight and being around the COVID times we got concerns. Immediately he saw at the left a big lot for parking and we got our breath back. Very beautiful welcome area, and was received by a person making sure we sanitized before entrance and wearing mask. This was a plus for me to feel they are doing all to maintain each other safe. We came in without no reservation and asked if any available spot next to the waters and was directed there. My husband order the grouper and I decided for the fresh Snapper. There was live music that Thursday and they even had a small hook next to the table for ladies to hang their purses.( what a great idea) since it was a table for 2 and just next to the waters. I did came with some bug spray because for a while you will experience the beach nats. Put it on my flip flops and done. It just lasted like 35 minutes after sunset. Service was great and drinks were also. The wait foe the food after ordering was just about 29 minutes even the restaurant was pretty full. My husband was impressed. They have some cakes (red velvet) and cheese cakes. I hope I have more space for my next visit. Thank you soooo much for the fun time...
Read moreI only gave it 2 stars because the view on the deck at sunset is beautiful and the server was nice.
For starters, we sat for 15 minutes before ANYONE approached us. And when they did, the first thing she said was “has anyone explained to you how this works?” I answered her “no,” and she tells us that “there is a minimum 20% minimum gratuity. Minimum.” I replied that was fine, but that we had been there 15 minutes without seeing a server. Also, we were a party of 3 so the minimum gratuity of 20% was interesting. She then said she would get out server.
He did not speak English but I speak Spanish so that was fine. We arrived around 6, ordered drinks apps and entrees by 6:30, it was close to 8 pm before our appetizers arrived. I asked about entrees and he said it would take an additional 10-30 minutes. I asked him to check if he could get it out sooner, or just cancel since it was late and we were tired of waiting. He brought out the food, it was okay. The mofongo was wrong so he quickly corrected it and brought out the right one. It was pretty good but not anything work the wait for.
The table next to us was seated before we were. They were celebrating a birthday. We were finishing our dinner before their appetizers arrived. It was clear that they were frustrated at the delay as well, as some of the guest left early.
We had to go find our server when we wanted to pay. He was sitting in the main dining having...
Read moreYou will be hard-pressed to find a restaurant with a better view than their patio! The food is made fresh, phenomenally seasoned and has always been cooked perfectly! Some items have a moderate upcharge, some have a hefty upcharge. Almost $15 for a bowl of rice & beans ordered from the "sides" menu which had ham in it after verifying it's vegetarian?!? Medalla bottle costs $1 more than the standard island rate of $3. Some servers are highly punctual, others will socialize with coworkers while your drink is sitting empty for a few minutes. Ample parking across the street. The relaxed coastal vibe, gorgeous view and exceptional food quality is worth going out of your way if you don't mind having potentially slow service and paying a bit more than other restaurants. There's an english menu available for those not...
