Acclaimed by people in the community as the best Mexican restaurant In the northern part of Santa Maria, the food stood up to its reputation and the staff was exceptional. With the restaurant at least ¾ of its capacity, staff kept customers content, served food quickly and all had a good time. I loved the spicy salsa, so happy to find a Mexican restaurant that actually has HOT salsa. When the server brought chips and salsa, I asked if it was the hottest. She came back to the table with a salsa that was hotter; before my meal was served, she brought another dish that was even hotter. Not flaming hot, yet comfortably hotter than the others. My food was quite spicy and there were five other bottled sauces on the table, two I recognized and three that were new to me. I tasted the three new ones and added some to my meal. Read moreThis restaurant was a great surprise. We stopped by for dinner before a PCPA play at Hancock. It was a modest looking place, but the menu was large with a wide variety of dishes, some very traditional (not just the usual American-Mexican food.) I ordered the pescado relleno con camarones y hongos. It was a perfectly cooked whole fish with the moist fish practically falling off the bones. It was stuffed with shrimp, mushrooms, and vegetables, in a delicious sauce. It was increíble! It came with rice and beans. My wife loved her dish as well. We didn’t get to try one of their variety of traditional desserts because we were both stuffed after the main course. We are going back soon to try other food and a dessert! Don’t expect a fancy interior, but the food and servers were excellent! Many local restaurants falsely claim authentic Mexican food, but this place was...
Read moreA went a awhile ago but i can’t seem to take my mind off this situation …. HORRIBLE lady sitting at the counter. She yells at the waitress while the waitress was with a table. The waitress was a tall thin lady with black hair and bright lipstick.. didn’t catch her name. But anyways, I don’t understand much Spanish but i did understand that she wanted her to do a task while she was in the middle of taking an order. It was inappropriate for her to YELL at her and very rude for her to tell her something while she’s with a customer. I was told that the lady yelling is the owner from someone sitting next to me.. disgusting behavior from the face that represents the restaurant. I’m so sorry for that waitress that had to experience that. Please do not go support unprofessional people. Food was also meh, too much lard and the cheese wasn’t...
