We had made a habit of picking up the Indian (ie twist) pizzas from here any time my son had a soccer game in Santa Rosa. Our most recent trip, when we brought the pizzas home, they were the standard American fare. They were also very late preparing our order. So I thought perhaps they had mixed up orders and gave our pizzas to somebody else. I called the restaurant and said I didn't get the twist pizzas I ordered. We live too far to return the order. They were nice enough to say if you can come back we'll give you another large for free.
Since my son had another game in Santa Rosa the very next day, I took them up on it. This time I specifically asked for the tandoori twist. When I opened it up in the car, it looked like a regular pizza again. Maybe the sauce was a little more twist-y, but it had none of the Indian flavors I remembered. That was when the penny dropped. They didn't mix up my order. I think they modified the twist recipes to be more mainstream, which is unfortunate. We used to crave the pizzas with the delightfully Indian sauces and spices. Now it's become just another...
Read moreI ordered the special 2 large 3 topping pizzas off of the website. One pie with thin crust and the other with hand thrown crust. First impressions are that the large pizzas are actually a medium, but this is common with chains. The amount of cheese on both pies were fine, but they both could have used a touch more red sauce, so a tad dry. All of the other toppings were just too sparse. A single handful of each of the 3 toppings on both pies would have made them so much better overall. It is nice that you can actually get fresh spicy green chilies on the pizza. Most places just use pickled jalapenos which have barely any heat and just taste pickled, so fresh green chilies is a plus. There was no difference that I could tell between the thin crust and the hand thrown crust. My guess is that they made both pies with the hand thrown crusts instead of what I ordered on the website, oversight. I really was interested in ordering their pizza twist versions, but before I tried those I wanted to at least get a taste of their traditional pizza. I hope next time will be an...
Read moreI have seen this place when I have taken my dog to the groomer across the way. I've been curious but my husband doesn't do "different". We received a coupon in the mail the other day and I decided to try it. Because of the neighborhood I live in it is difficult to find pizza places that will deliver.
The on-line ordering was a smooth process. I LOVED the option to have a text when the driver arrived so that it didn't set off the dogs. AND I GOT THE TEXT! I have noted for other places not to knock or ring the bell because of the dogs, but I never receive a call. I received a text that told me exactly what time my pizza would arrive and another when the driver was about 2 minutes away. That was great!
The pizza we ordered was simple: pepperoni & mushroom with bbq sauce. The cook on the pizza was great. There were no mushy spots at all. The sauce had a great flavor, and it enhanced the pepperoni. No blandness on this pizza. I will want to try one or two more before I make a final decision, but I think we have found a new...
