Changing my review because I'm done with Azteca's. We went in after the Alabama v. Georgia game. It was very empty when we arrived. I thought that was going to be a good thing. Nope! Very poor service, female bar tender was flirting the whole time with another patron, male and female bar tenders were sitting eating with coworkers or just shooting the breeze. Now I have no problem with you shooting the breeze or munching on the clock. My issue was with the patrons you were ignoring during the process. Three times I had to flag down our bar tender or ask the female bar tender to get him so we could order food and drinks. OAN, I can certainly understand prices going up and it being passed on to the consumer. For two people to share an appetizer of queso fundido, a basket the soft chips and 4 watermelon margs with Don Julio was nearly $90. My jaw was on the floor. The dip was so greasy just looking at it slide down my chip made my stomach turn. I ate maybe two or three chips with dip. I consume Don Julio enough to know if the drink was mixed properly you would taste the DJ. Not in either of these drinks. It tasted like I just drank two 16 oz., iced down cups of watermelon juice. I just felt ripped off. After flagging down our bartender for the third or fourth time (I lost count) for the checks. The other bar tender just brings them drops them off and leaves. Piss poor food and service. To be fair I really should have been done with this location long ago. Last year we went in to kick off our girls night. As soon as we sat down in the booth we barely had time to order a drink before a filth roach the size of the tip of your pinky crawled across our booth. We left immediately. I AM DONE WITH AZTECAS! The only reason we went this night was our other option was packed out. Huge mistake. The two stars in the atmosphere category was for the football...
Read moreThis was not a great time at all and I will not be returning to this place again. The food was good but the waiter working there that served us was quite rude. At first he didn't say or do anything that was rude but the way he carried himself you could tell he was not in a good mood but the worse came at the end of the night. My niece who was with me paid for her own dessert and when he brought her, her change he didn't bring all of it. Her total was 6.60 and she paid with a ten dollar bill so her change that she was due was 3.40. All he brought her was three dollars and didn't say anything. When he came back I asked him about her change and this is where he gave us a very rude attitude. I asked where her change was and he said " you mean the. 40¢" I said yes. He replied with they were low on change and didn't really have anything. I asked "y'all don't have any quarters, nickles, or dimes? " and he said no. He said he would bring her a dollar. We wait a minute and he comes back with not a dollar but two quarters. While he is handing them to me he looks at me and says"you gonna give me my change back right? "And it was not said in a joking manner. At this point I've had enough so we get a different waitress to ask for the manager. She tells us she will be just a few minutes and then she will help us. But it takes a little over an hour for us to ever talk to the manager. We had to flag down yet another waiter before we are able to talk to the manager. The manager Apologies for the waiter, does not make him do it, says that she will take care of it and that it's. All we are told is that she is sorry we went through this and it should not have happened. We are not even sure if anything happened after that point. I have eaten at this chain of place before many times but never had a problem till I went to this one for the first time and...
Read moreEdit2: Last few trips here have been really disappointing. Prices continue to go up and the food and service go down. They will be running themselves out of business soon. The gor my taco order wrong and put it on flour shell when I asked for corn. I rarely send food back so I gave them a try... My mistake. The flour tortillas were horrible. Bad taste and hard like they were just stale. Almost $20 for an order of tacos, after the 'taco tuesday' special is ridiculous. And I had to flag down the bartender every single time I wanted anything. Every time! I'm don't with Aztecas and all their related chains and will be sure to recommend avoiding them.
Edit: Read below for more details but I wanted to post that their prices have skyrocketed. Maybe their own costs have caused it or maybe they're getting greedy. Either way the cost hardly justifies going there anymore. Margaritas are expensive, tacos, everything. $25 for some tacos and a coke is ridiculous... I'd rather pay a few bucks more and get a nice steak at a steakhouse if I wanted to spend this much. --end edit. One of the best Mexican restaurants around. The food is consistently good but maybe not mind-blowing awesome. Service is pretty good. Food usually comes out quickly. Atmosphere is a mix... Often feels too cold inside, so patio is nice when the weather allows but service seems to suffer outside. They have live music some nights and it's decent but often too loud. My gripes are pretty small and this is one of my favorite restaurants for their quality and...
