El Nopalito — Restaurant in Sardis

I lived in Mexico for almost 2 years so I’m pretty particular about my Mexican food. This place is the best Mexican I’ve had since moving back! My son & I were craving it and drove from Eudora/Hernando to eat here after he saw it going to the lake. The 45 minute drive was worth it! We each had tacos Mexicanos pastor and carnitas. Fantastic homemade salsas, tender meat, fresh and warm corn tortillas. Perfecto! Like most Mexican restaurants, the colors, the music and the warmth of the people always put you in a good mood. I was craving some Mexican food & this the only place I found nearby the truck stop. It’s down one exit. I try their torta de asada, the way they made their meat is so different from where I go to back home (GA) but it was really good! I highly recommend trying that. I did ordered two tacos de chorizo, I wasn’t a big fan of it. The tortilla rip off and the chorizo wasn’t cooked well. Also they give you a bag of chips & dip, it was really good, the salsa was a bit watery but overall was a good meal. (Not the tacos) I will come back whenever I get another load around the area...

Skip it unless you actually want to pay restaurant prices for canned frozen mushy vegetables full of preservatives. The picture is just some of what I picked out of their grilled shrimp and vegetables to toss. Disgusting way to destroy your shrimp. Would rather be informed you are out of vegetables. No excuse for any restaurant to serve such slop.
