Dorothy's Diner — Restaurant in Sarepta

This is the type of place I love to find. Little discreet diner just off the road, when I go back I will have to remember to get some photos. You can order at a window if you plan on eating in the car or at the few tables they have outside, or go in for a really quaint and lovely dining room. Our first visit was chocked full of fried delectables. From fried pickles, steak finger baskets and fried shrimp po-boy and of course fresh onion rings and okra. OMG - we were stuffed and already trying to plan our next visit. My partner normally looks forward to steak fingers from an ice cream joint I will not name, but Dorothy’s is now hands down the favorite! Prices I felt were reasonable (especially with amount of portions), staff were so friendly, quite a bit of parking for such a little joint. Only one bathroom inside, but we were there for lunch so no line. Everything was clean. The only thing I can nitpick - there were probably 3 items I initially asked about that were out of season or wrong day because of deliveries. With one menu at the ordering window felt the menu could have had those items taped over - they had my mouth drooling for them and then all hopes dashed. Apparently they are well known for their hamburgers and fried cheese ~ may have to check those...

Saw this hidden Gem on the side of the road driving to Minden and we had to try it. Not only is it super cute and homey, but absolutely delicious!! The ladies working there were super nice too. Definitely get their hamburger and cheese sticks. Will be back again...
