The place itself is in a spot with gravel for their parking lot, so good-luck coming here with a sedan or sports car without incurring damage. The spot is very āinstagrammyā, meaning extremely overpriced, you see a decent view, itās basically self serve (and they still ask for a tip) and itās outside so you get to enjoy the bugs and the swamp air.
As mentioned, the āserviceā is really self service. You are the one that needs to get up to get napkins, condiments, and water refills with your paper cup, out of a dirty Gatorade dispenser. I expected to be at a restaurant, not football practice. The only service you get is the lady at the front swiping your card, and a runner who delivers your food. The only person that really deserved a tip was the guy running the bar with the bass pro hat, he actually cleaned up my table, and put thought into service. Itās not his job to do that for me or anyone elseās table and itās sad heās hustling while nobody else seemed to.
Again, they still ask for a tip here despite you handling a-lot of your own service, and Iām almost certain he only gets to see a percentage of tips.
Iām not usually one to make a scene but I really almost did when they charged me almost 20 dollars for 2 of what Iāll describe as āmiddle of the packā fish tacos and over salted rice and beans. I understand inflation and cost of living issues is a real problem but when this place is charging more than what the biggest and densest city in Georgia is charging for tacos, and out of what is essentially a shack on a dock, that is a major issue. Atlanta isnāt even as expensive as this, and if they are itās because itās inside of a nice dining room, in the city, with air conditioning, and real service. This review wouldnāt be nearly as scathing if they were more reasonably priced. Maybe 12-14 dollars with better sides?? 10 dollars a taco is just unreal.
As aforementioned, I really try to not make a scene, so I tried to call the restaurant so I could discuss my time there but the line either just auto voicemails or they are hanging up the phone after 2-3 rings. Either way, thatās another issue.
Iām more disappointed than anything else honestly, I try to support local but I constantly bump into places like this. I donāt like to see small businesses wither away but when you bump into things like this it just forces your hand sometimes. There are definitely some local gems all around Georgia, but this place aināt one. They really should review and overhaul their business model.
I donāt know where the other folks who are rating this spot 5 stars were eating at, but it couldnāt have been here. Shout out to the...

Date of "Service" - 6/24/25
Took my wife on a motorcycle ride and decided to stop by The Wyld in Savannah for dinner. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the single most disappointing dining experiences Iāve had in a while... made that way even more so due to the fact that the last few times we were there (albeit a while ago), it was REALLY good!
From the start, it was strange. We werenāt greeted by a host or seated by a server... instead, we were redirected to a small stand that looked like a merchandise booth. Thatās where we were told to place our entire order, get our drinks, and essentially handle things ourselves. They handed us paper cups and said we could refill them as often as we liked by either walking back up to the register or hitting the Igloo-style water coolers around the property. They claimed this was a āsocial distancingā measure from COVID. Seriously? Whoās still doing that?
We went ahead and ordered. I got the ceviche and a burger. My wife had the salad and tacos. A food runner (not really a server) brought everything out all at once. No greeting. No checking who ordered what. No pacing... just apps, entrees, and dessert dumped at our table in one shot.
So there I was, eating my ceviche fast before it got warm, then rushing to finish my burger before it got cold, and then trying to scarf down a slice of key lime pie before it turned into soup. The food tasted decent. It was well-seasoned, Iāll give them that. But the entire experience felt like an upscale self-serve cafeteria with a view.
No one checked on us. If we wanted another drink, we had to either go to the bar (for adult beverages), the front counter (for soda), or the water coolers (for, well, a refill on water).
There was ZERO hospitality. No warmth, no service, no reason to come back... we won't. The complete lack of service absolutely killed the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place apparently is forgettable because I came in March 2021 (looked at my old transactions on Mint to find it) and completely forgot. Below is what made it memorable when I came 21 April 2023.
Bottom line, youāre paying for the experience and location, but given that itās still overpriced and overrated.
We arrived around 6:30 on a Friday. The restaurant is at a dead end of a residential street. The parking situation was an absolute s*!tshow. There is no room for two way traffic. Next, we stood in line for 40min before we ordered. We got VERY lucky to get a two-person table right away. Many people were just standing around with their table number waiting for tables. The food came out somewhat fast.
The tacos were maybe the worst Iāve had in Savannah but they werenāt awful. The side dish of rice and beans was very good. I also got two 12oz Tropicalia beers. My girlfriend got the shrimp and fries (the cocktail and tartar sauce is very good) and three gin and tonics. Thatās $36 before tax for food. Not terrible, but overpriced for the serving size and quality. Because the serving sizes were small we ordered more fries, also a small serving for another $6. So the food total was $42 and we left hungry. Drink total was $43 for two beers and three mixed drinks. To charge $6.50 for a 12oz Tropicalia is insane. I can get a 16oz Tropicalia at the Legion by Forsyth park for $4. So this restaurant makes a lot of profit simply by price gouging on beer.
If you want to wait in line to order food. Then possibly wait to get a table. During this time youāll most likely be getting eaten up by gnats and mosquitoes. All so you can eat (and probably not be satiated) okay, pricy food and drinks and definitely over priced beer by the...
