Delicate food. HALAL Restaurant. I took my friend for dinner, and I was responsible for picking a place. I searched for a Halal restaurant, and I saw good reviews and decided to choose this place. 1st when we walked in, we were a little skeptical. There were no any other dine-in customers. The owner greeted us. We decided to give the place a chance, and thank God we did. Everything we ordered was very delicious, and we ordered a lot for 2 people We had : Butter chicken pizza ( it says on the menu that it's a personal pizza. So we thought we would have 2 small slices each as an appetizer, but it was like a medium pizza). -chicken biryani large or regular (the biggest size from 2 options in the menu) -butter chicken with rice (the biggest size, which was regular or large , I can't remember) 1 garlic naan -mango Lassi -plain lassi As a courtasy, the owner gave us a free desert (semia). We enjoyed every single food. We tried all, but couldn't finish and took the leftovers with us. The only thing I didn't like here was plain Lassi. It tasted like milk with water. I tried adding salt, hoping it will help with the taste, and made it worse. And that Lassi costs $5.... While we were eating several people came to pick up their orders placed online. The sitting area was quite nice. See the pictures. Parking is free. Also it's kind of hard not to miss the rest. When the navigator said, "You've arrived," I stopped on the road and took a few seconds to see the rest and sign for parking. I recommend this restaurant, but not the plain...
Read moreA Ukrainian and an Italian walk into a Pakistani/Indian takeout restaurant…and they fall in love with the food. I confess I am not an expert in the cuisine—but I do know when a meal has been freshly cooked with care from well sourced ingredients and when the chef has a real understanding of spices and how to meld them together to make each dish unique. It’s important to know that Shamim’s Kitchen is take out only, and, while some may be disappointed by that, it actually works to the diner’s advantage. While other restaurants rely on eat-in ambiance to enhance their meals, this restaurant puts everything they have into the food. Regardless of the culture, food is an international language, and we were ready to chat. Once home we feasted on Chicken Tikka Massala, Dal Mash with Chicken, Chicken Seekh Kebabs, Halwa Puri, Shamim’s Goat Kadai, the freshest naan I’ve ever had, and topped it off with a generous helping of kheer—rich but not too sweet. Yes, that’s a lot of food for two people considering that the portions were really generous, but I have a feeling it will taste even better tomorrow. Give Shamim’s a try. You won’t regret it.
