Scotland Neck doesn't have a ton of dine out options, so I was excited to see La Casetta after a long drive and working. Their menu has a great mix of pastas, pizza, salads, and appetizers. All of their entrees come with bread, and you have the option to add proteins and vegetables. I decided to go with the lasagna with a side of vegetables. The food took a while to come out, but it was so worth it! The lasagna had tons of flavor. Each bite you could taste the oregano, tomatoes, red pepper, and one other seasonings. One just popped after the other. The vegetables were a little over cooked and sad, so I added them to the lasagna, and that seemed to help a little bit. Minus one star for the server being a little snappy and rude when I asked about the wifi. She seemed to get a little nicer before we left, but the escalation of her attitude while I asked her questions was surprising. Being a server myself, I understand having an off day; but you can't let that mess with you too much. However, the other server that helped us at the end was a delight. I would come back for the lasagna and skip the vegetables.

We arrived here after a few hours visit at the nearby Sylvan Heights Bird Park. We were a little late for lunch, so the restaurant was not busy. We were promptly seated and our orders taken. My wife and I ordered the 16 inch meat lovers pizza and homemade potato chips , and our daughter ordered the child's spaghetti with meatballs. My inlaws ordered a plain cheese steak sub and ham and cheese Stromboli I believe. Now my wife and I agreed those were the best homemade potato chips we had eaten. They were thick cut and not at all soggy....I would about say perfectly done. The pizza was right there with the best of them. Everyone else had nothing but compliments about their food as well. Our server was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately I don't remember his name, but he did an excellent job. This was an overall excellent experience and whenever we make it back to Scotland Neck I assure you we'll be returning to La Cassetta. If I lived closer, I'd probably be spending too much of my paycheck here. 😊

Most of the food was decent. The veal was overcooked and not appetizing. But the biggest problem was the wait. We got there like 130 on a Saturday, it was about half full and the food took like 45 min. Salad came after mains, didnt include bread (I didn't want bread but it said it was included in the menu) and they never cleared appraiser dishes. Wings were good Calamari was heavy breaded and almost certinally frozen, not super chewy but bouncer than normal. Shrimp on salad were good but ofcourse only 4 of them. Salad itself was like iceberg lettuce. Veal piccata had a decent sauce, plenty sour like i perfer. But the veal wasn't very high quality, seemed overdone, and likely frozen too. Presentation was... seems for yourself. Overall the food would have been fine for our expectations of a place like this. But the wait was the problem. Maybe its better if you just order a pizza.

You only need one word to describe this restaurant and that is .........AWESOME!! My family and I were looking for somewhere to eat after leaving the bird park. Thing about it is I have celiac disease and sometimes it can be hard finding a place to eat at. So I go online and put in restaurant and near me and gluten free and La Casetta pops up first. I look over the information and other reviews and we decided that we would give it a try. The atmosphere was relaxing. The eating area was very neat and tidy. We were waited on within 5 minutes of walking in. The waitress was super nice and friendly. Now to the food. My husband had a personal meat lovers pizza, my daughter had cheese steak and fries , and I had a Gluten Free Cheese Pizza. Lets just say I would definitely drive a hour and 1/2 to get more of that pizza. The typical gluten free pizzas have a "different" taste. The crust normally doesn't taste like crust. BUT THIS pizza was perfect. My husband said his pizza was fantastic, he ate the whole pizza. My daughter said that the cheese steak was awesome. She said she didn't feel like she was eating grease and the bread was fresh. Bottom Line.....If you are in Scottland Neck NC and need something to eat, Stop here, you will...

I was really hoping to recommend this restaurant to others. I had been to the location at Bethel that is owned by the same family and absolutely loved it. But after the experience at this location, I would never recommend it to anyone. I'm not sure how this is as highly rated as people have recommend it. Our salads took 1.5 hrs to arrive at the table. The appetizer that arrived (calamari) was over cooked and dry and the bruchetta was under toasted and lacked flavor. The arrival of our meal after 2 hrs of being there was a huge disappointment. The only thing enjoyed was the pizza. The linguini pastoral was over cooked with the mussels being dry and clams being rubbery, the gnocchi was store bought and the shrimp added to the angel hair pasta was undercooked and still grey. When it was bought to the owners attention, his response was to argue with the customer and tell us how we were wrong. That "how could one be over cooked and the other be undercooked". We will never be returning to the location. Nor would I ever recommend it to anyone looking for a decent meal. Highly disappointed. Edit: my husband that ordered the gnocchi ended up with food poisoning so that says a lot about the quality of the home cooked food. Thanks for...

The pizza here is a standout—moist, delicious, and far from the usual overly sweet, cornmeal-coated slices you find elsewhere. The sauce is exceptionally tasty, with no hints of artificial sweetness or off-putting flavors. The crust strikes the perfect balance with a satisfying chew and rich flavor. Topped with a sprinkle of fresh basil, it's clear that each element was crafted with care and attention to detail.

The risotto exceeded expectations, especially considering the price. It was creamy in all the right places, with the rice maintaining a pleasing chew without any texture issues. The flavors were delicate and well-balanced, allowing me to enjoy the entire dish without feeling overwhelmed. It is truly a well-executed dish with no complaints.

Service was top-notch throughout our visit. The staff was attentive and genuinely pleasant, making the experience all the more enjoyable.

The atmosphere was clean and spacious, with plenty of room to move around. The decor was thoughtfully curated, and the addition of natural plants added a refreshing touch. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that I would highly recommend.

I am looking forward to coming again and trying...
