The Grill House KS — Restaurant in Scott City

Grill House - Good food, nice price. I have lived in Scott City for 8 years, and eat at the GRILL HOUSE a couple times a month. My go to, and personal recommendation is the Grill House Nachos (trust me, it is a meal!). The Grill House Nachos are comprised of seasoned ground beef or chicken, generously layered on a bed of tortilla chips topped with cheese, with a hefty amuont of the best, always fresh, guacamole in town, and a sliced grilled fresh jalapeno on the side (extremely hot, so watch out!). This meal isn't for you health nuts, but for everyone else, this and other items are amazing! My boys like the 3-meat omelette (breakfast served all day), my wife likes the nachos as well, but recommends the Burgers too. I don't think I've ever had a dissapointing experience at the GRILL HOUSE, but be prepared to wait a bit for your order, it's always worth the time it takes to prepare. Was looking for something local, and stumbled on this place. Upon entering I knew immediately that this would be a challenging experience, as there were no soft surfaces to absorb sound. Being hard of hearing, it makes communicating with the wait staff difficult due to the ambient/background noise. I got the chicken fried steak, because it's a staple that is hard to mess up. First, the mashed potatos were phenominal. The white gravy was a strange consistency though. It tasted ok, just different. The steak was average.

Service was ok. Expected problems with communicating with the waiter, as he was soft spoken in addition, and I had to ask him to repeat himself multiple times. The waitress was much easier to understand though.

This place has a lot of potential. It will be interesting to see...

The food I must say, was really good, came out hot and fresh and mostly unseasoned so you could put as little or as much salt and pepper you wanted. However I have to warn you this is not a "quick bite" restaurant. Went in two different times, first time wasn't busy at all and it took so long to get our food and the second time was a little busier but not crazy since most people already had their food by the time we ordered, but it still took quite a while, I assume they make everything from scratch, or hope.
