Slocum Hollow — Restaurant in Scranton

There was a line at 6pm to get in but it moved relatively quickly, and the hostess was friendly and accurate. We sat at 6:26pm. We were not seen by a waitress until 7:05. My fiancé and I went up to 2 different waitresses and the hostess came over, and still no one took our order until 7:05. Waitress said, “Sometimes they don’t tell us they say tables.” To which I responded, “I told you we were sat.” She replied with, “If I were you I would have left.” Our food and drinks were good, and they came out fast. Our waitress was actively avoiding us (for what reason, I don’t know...we were very nice about the situation). She didn’t even bring the check my fiancé had to find her. We visited while on a ski trip with our kids. Other than super slow service (it was jam packed), we liked it a lot. Our waitress and the bartenders were very friendly. The drink options on point (Yes, Yuengling Hershey Chocolate Porter and New Trail Goggles), lots of IPA's and Craft beers. All of the food was really tasty...typical burgers, chicken fingers and fries. My fish sandwich (on what seemed to be whole grain bread) was surprisingly good (not sure why I ordered fish in the mountains, but turned out ok!). There was live music and an awesome festive atmosphere. A better option than the food court. Again, it was very busy which I am sure attributed to the slow service. Your options are limited up there but being able to grab a drink, sit by a fire pit, listen to some great music and watch your family ski &...

Second time we have eaten here and sadly think we had the same server both times. We went to Montage to ski, our meal (2 people) took over 2 hours- we had the soup/ grilled cheese combo and a burger. While I understand the staff shortage right now in the food industry every other table was getting their food and had service, our server (multi color hair, heart glasses “to block the haters” in her words) went missing multiple times for 20+ minutes. When we were ready to leave she took our plates but never came back with the check; I asked 2 other servers to find her/ the check anything… no one could help. When she finally came back she didn’t say a word just took our payment. This place has good food, and fun vibe but this specific server could use...
