Ermis' at Frydek — Restaurant in Sealy

We got there right at 7PM to enjoy the wing special and our evening together. When we got there, we were just looked at and not greeted nor acknowledged. I had to go inside to try to find someone and then I asked a young man who saw me, but didn’t want to acknowledge me and didn’t say anything, and I had to ask if we were going to be served outside or if I needed to go inside to get someone. He just brushed me off and coldly said yeah. We were sitting down for over 10 minutes with no acknowledgment until I asked one of the young girls if someone was going to help us or not. She went and got our drinks and then said the server would be with us. We were sitting down for 20 minutes at this point when another family came and sat down and the young male server decided to go to them and take his time and be extra courteous and conversational KNOWING he saw us waiting and sitting there for awhile. After he took their food order, he still didn’t come over to us and instead went inside. Both of the servers acted so inconvenienced by us and didn’t want to help us. Finally after 26 minutes, we just got up and left. I’m just disappointed in how we were treated when we have great service from Lisa. I love the vibes of this place, but the food and service was a miss for me. The food was very underwhelming for my partner and I. When we got there, nobody was there to greet us and there’s no sign on how to sit. We got seated after a few min and another table sat about 5-10 mins after us. That table got their drinks and their order in first, before we even got our drinks. The chips and salsa were very small portions, and the salsas tasted like they came out of a jar. 1/2 of the chips were chewy and not fried completely. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was grisly and not very seasoned. The mashed potatoes were cold on the inside. There’s also an extreme amount of flies there, it’s hard to enjoy your meal when you’re consistently waving off the bugs. I know it’s outside, but they need fly tape or little fans on the table to deter the flys, it was bad. I’m not sure if we came on an “off” day, but we were not impressed. So we are regulars here and I have quite mixed feelings about the place. Let’s start with the good everyone is friendly and try to be helpful, the food is mostly very good we particularly like the cowboy bites and pickle bombs as appetizers, and the burgers as the main course. The atmosphere is great you can find a quiet place on the porch or be inside with all the action depending on your mood and the weather. Now the not so good, going at a less busy time will definitely get you better service. I’m not much of a fan of the flatbreads, and the margaritas are made with wine not tequila (a winearita) we aren’t fans of those either but apparently some people Iove them. They should definitely keep the kitchen open later on Sunday evening especially in the summer. And it feels a bit over priced...
