Seafood Gumbo for lunch at Sebastian’s Roadside Restaurant! #sebastianfl #seafoodgumbo #seafood #gumbo #florida

The atmosphere at Sabastian’s Roadside Restaurant is amazing! I can’t stress that enough for this location. As you’ll see in my video and pictures of this restaurant. It is the most unique place I have been in in a really long time. The decorum is of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s for the most part and it is like walking back in time. The staff greet you with plentiful smiles and welcoming gestures. My server was Michele and the Nancy other server on duty were very friendly and always smiling as they both buzzed about taking care of the guests that were there. Joni who is the manager on duty was also engaged with the guest making sure all were well taken care of. Having great staff is one key to a successful restaurant and the other is having great food! I was not disappointed with the quality of my dinner either. I had ordered the Boneless Twin Pork Chops and for the sides I had Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. BTW those potatoes were fresh NOT BOXED along with snow peas. The chops were VERY TENDER and VERY JUICY. The presentation is exactly what you would expect from a restaurant themed for the 50’s Home cooked deliciously and done to perfection. My compliments to the kitchen staff and their perfection of a great home cooked meal. THANK YOU!! To Mr. WRIGHT great concept don’t ever lose that touch!!

If you need a bite to eat, this will work in a pinch. Not, a destination spot. Came first time on a Friday, all you can eat fish special. Pollock, two sides. The fish comes, and lots of fish only matched with lots of disappointment. It is entirely edible, but nothing "good" about it. Soft, soggy meat, and limp breading, like microwave results. Equally, zero flavor, salt, or spice. It's edible, so no issue, but unless you like fish sticks from a microwave, skip the fish. Servers, were okay. Again not bad, not good. It was a classic 3-star spot....but unless you have a darn good reason to breach the door, roll the dice elsewhere.

This has been our go to for almost a year and it's been really consistent. We've never had an issue with food or service. On 3/28 two of us went for a late lunch around 3pm or so. Our server (whos name is allegedly Nancy) was terrible off of the bat. She seemed to be bothered and far from hospitable. We had to engage her about the special and even ask what the vegetable of the day was. We ordered country fried steak and a New York strip. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were short staffed or the waitress was having an off day. We had to ask for one refill for the entire meal, she never checked on us or offered to fill out drinks. The steak came back raw. We had to track down our waitress, who we believe wrote the order down wrong to begin with, and asked for it to be fixed. They recooked the steak and the pieces that were cut and served it back to us after it was already coated with A1. That was a red flag to me because the first piece was eaten and we were surprised that they recooked food that utensils were on but perhaps it's allowed, I've never seen that before. Unfortunately, between the food, the lack of service completely, I cannot recommend this place any longer. There were other guests that had to get their own condiments and to go boxes because the server was no where to be found. We paid, tipped 20% to the penny which is well below our normal and certainly undeserved, and left. I called the restaurant a few mins after our departure and left my info for the manager to call me back. The lady that answered the phone asked who our server was and we said we had no idea she never introduced herself. I described her as a little bit older but tall 5'9 to 5'11 and thin. The lady that answered said our waitress was Nancy. I told her about all of the issues and I was told the owner would call me back because the feedback was important. There was no phone call after several days. I am not interested in any money back but wanted to be reassured this would be addressed since I have openly advertised and recommend this restaurant as a place to go to. I also didn't want to post a negative review without giving them a chance to address. Since we didn't receive the call back we are posting our review and pulled all recommendations of this restaurant. We are embarrassed to recommend this business and cannot risk a client or guest of ours experiencing what we did. After reading the most recent reviews something major has happened recently as far as the service and food. I didn't want to see this small business fail after getting back on track after COVID. Nancy, if that's her name, should be working from home or doing a job that doesn't involve interacting with people. Maybe working with plants would be better. We ironically had three fraudulent transactions on the card we used this weekend with this restaurant being the last place it was used too. It could be unrelated but it sure does seem coincidental. They've lost our business...

My husband and I have been coming here for three years and have NEVER had a bad experience until tonight. Starting from the beginning, the hostess (who isn’t new) wasn’t very pleasant and looked miserable. When the waitress (tall, blonde older lady) approached our table with silverware, she realized it was already there, let out a sigh and slammed it on the table next to us. It took her around four minutes to come back for a drink order. When we finally got our order in, my husband ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and I ordered the hand battered chicken tenders with mac & cheese and a side salad. The salad was brought out with yellowish, old shredded lettuce. I immediately pushed it to the end of the table. The waitress walked by at least five times without acknowledging it. My husband finally got her attention. She said “yeah, they brought us the wrong lettuce and want us to use it up” While we were waiting for our food, my husband observed our waitress roughly put down a table’s bread, causing it to slide off the plate and on the table. She literally put the bread back on the plate with her hands. When approaching her tables, her “hello” was “what can I get you?” We FINALLY got our food, FORTY minutes later! We have never had to wait that long, even in season. Don’t get me wrong, if the food is good and hot, we don’t mind waiting and know restaurants are sometimes short staffed. When putting my plate down, two chicken tenders slid off and onto the table, which is cleaned with a filthy rag. The chicken was room temperature and the middle was warm. Mac & cheese was dried out and cold. My husbands mashed potatoes were ice cold and his meatloaf was warm with a cold center. It is 100% not the cooks fault, the chicken was cooked perfect! The waitress had a bad attitude and just didn’t care. The food had to of sat in the window for a LONG time. Michelle was the other server on and is always great when we have her. She had a single guy come in way after us and he got his food before we did, because she didn’t let it sit in the window. After such an awful experience and complaining, we still paid for our beer and tea. Guess who took that money? Same miserable hostess that sat us! BEYOND upset with...

I went to have dinner on a Saturday Evening. Being off season there was no wait. We were seated and then we waited. After about 5-7 minutes our server (order taker) whisked by and asked if we had our drink order in yet. "No" and she was gone. A table was sat behind us and there server met them almost immediately. Finally we placed our drink order. That came out quickly with a frosty mug. Just beer or wine for adult beverages. When we ordered our dinner I asked for a side salad in addition to my burger plate and another in my party also had a salad. His salad arrived and mine did not. I waited and waited and finally the order taker came by and said she forgot my salad because "she doesn't often think of a salad with a burger order (it is a side option). I wasn't sure how to take the comment but it was made. Instead of getting my salad she floated around the dining area chatting and having a great conversation with our neighbor. Then the salad arrived, phew. This was easily a 10 minute wait from the first salad served to the person in my party. Food came out shortly after and that was it. We never saw her at our table again until she asked if we needed a box or desert. She talked to everyone else. Never asked if I wanted any refills on our drinks, nothing (my beer was empty pretty early in the dinner). The food was fair but the service was terrible. That is why I called her an order taker. She did nothing but that. Finally, I know it's a family establishment but a family across from us had a small child. The mom got up with the child and proceeded to go table by table showing off her child. Then a little bit later the father was walking around the dining area "flying" the child like superman. No one spoke to them to sit or not disturb the other dining folks so this maybe a regular thing...
