Brothers seafood is a great down-home local joint. The place is a hole in the wall, sandwiched into a strip mall between a dress shop? Hairdresser? And a lottery selling convenience store. (One guy kept running next door for scratch offs) place is sparse but functional, maybe a dozen tables? But only about 6-8? set, due to Covid restrictions. But check the menu, this is delicious, un-fancy food, served by the shovel full. , living up to it's name,There's awesome seafood with tons of choices. There's the usual platters, fish and chips, clams-bellies or strips, shrimp, calamari, ( we got that for an appetizeršš) and scallops. But the other treat was the affordable combo plates of any and all of the above. Cole slaw and fries came with it all, but there's also sweet potato fries, onion rings, chowders etc One of us got this insane taurine ( big as a bucket) with 1/2 lb of pasta smothered in a garlicky lemony? cream sauce, filled with shrimps clams and scallops floating in it. "Jeez! Good thing I only got the 1/2 order!!!" He said. The other 2 of us got the combos, my fish and scallops were good, the clams were supposed to be bellies but they were mixed with strips, delish but not enuf of the bellies I crave. We also got fried shrimp on another combo, all great, I forgot to substitute sweet potato fries, because I like those better. The place was filled with families, grey haired curmudgeon-y locals, ("beeyuz all around", talking about "tha' Socks"), with loud, fast talking, jokey waitresses, and they were doing a bang-up takeout biz to rival any fast food counter. All good stuff, my only issue was the clams, next time I'll order the clam plate, and see how it goes, and (Just my quirk) I hate soda in a can, I much prefer fountain, and I usually want a refill, which sucks by the can. So, if you're looking for upscale fancy, this might not be the place for you, but if you want to get stuffed with great tasting comfort/seafood and need to open the top button, (no one will notice) this is the place, we'll be back, with my mom, she loves fish and chips and...

Drove to another state for dinner. I missed my exit and still got there in 13 minutes⦠lol. I wasnāt sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. I immediately wanted to become a regular. It seats 9 comfortably at the bar and 28 at the tables. The restaurant sits in a strip mall. I walked in and felt cozy. Wheel of fortune was on and Jenn, the bartender/cashier said that Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune are a nightly thing. I found myself and nearby tables trying to guess the puzzle or clues while dinning on full bellied clams or lobster rolls or crab cakes.
I Ordered the three way combo of clams, scallops and calamari oh And Portuguese soup as a starter. (First time for anything.) Never heard of the soup but it says itās momās soup on the menu. Very delicious, had lentils and potatoes , kale and a sausage in it. Yum! I would come back just for the soup. I normally donāt post empty plates or bowls but here we areā¦
Laura, my waitress was wonderful, she said it was her second night! She did an excellent job handling all of her tables and making sure everything was wiped down!!!!! (Me Singing) love it! The place was extremely clean!!!!! So after my soup, my meal came out. A very generous portion for the price. I needed a mini Togo box! While enjoying my meal customers were still coming in for dinner and others were doing the call in take out thing!
It was a warm fuzzy feeling that came over me as guests left and see you tomorrow was said! This happened several times. Lots of customers were greeted by their first name, I loved it. Customers were catching up with each other.
After my meal, I went back inside to talk with Eric, the owner! Super guy, been in the business for years!!!! He knows his stuff!!! Gave good New England advice! I could use it⦠lol
I am so thrilled I googled āfried clams near meā even if it took me to another state! š I will become a regular just like John.
I have since then returned and took my son when he visited...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI didn't take photos of this experience as I actually forgot this time around. However, I will say, we came here to have Clam Chowder and Clam Cakes. We didn't want a big meal, and I can't handle much of anything as I just had Weight Loss Surgery a month ago. My girlfriend got the Red Clam Chowder, and myself the White Clam Chowder. My girlfriend also got half a dozen Clamcakes with the intention to bring most home and a stuffed quahog or as its' affectionately called around here "stuffie". We also ordered for drinks š· a ginger ale for my girlfriend, and she asked if there was anything non-carbonated for me, and to my delight, the lovely young waitress came back with a Lipton Green citrus iced tea that was diet! Our food was also brought out relatively fast and was so hot and fresh. When I took my first taste of the chowder, I was more than pleasantly surprised at both the nice hot temperature of it and the delicious taste and flavor of it. So good! I tried the smallest piece of Clam cake and that was also spot on in flavor. My girlfriend loved her stuffie and chowder too. From the lovely young woman at the counter, to our waitress. Everyone was so polite, friendly, and very concerned with making sure our experience was the best. We will definitely be back. We have found another new small business to put our money...
