I would give a zero star rating if possible. Recently I and family were traveling highway 115. We saw their establishment, smelled the food and decided to stop for dinner. Hostess asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. I chose to be seated inside out of the sun and bugs. Inside were plenty of tables as well as booths and yet the hostess put us at a table in a corner next to the kitchen and coolers. We sat for well over 5 minutes and had multiple staff pass us by without even acknowledging us or taking our drink orders while focusing most of their service to the outside customers. At one point I said let's give it a few more minutes and see what happens. 2 staff members walked past us without eye contact or service and at that point we decided to leave and seek out another food service provider a little further down the highway. We did locate just that. They were much busier and pricier yet treated us quickly and got us well fed and back on our way. I have no way of comparing or discussing the food at l3th Street cafe since I have never tasted their food because of the lack of service and will not name the other establishment as I find that as being in bad taste. I am not recommending nor not recommending 13th Street just giving my experience. If in the area again and see the 13th Street Cafe I will just keep...
Read moreJust called and ordered carry out: kids chx tenders meal, side order of fries, and side order of fried mushrooms. Mind you, I asked for the fries and mushrooms well done. I finished placing my order, she told me give us 30 minutes and hung up, no total given. Little frown but no big deal, understandable in a dinner rush time period. I went early for pick up, 15 minutes early. My order was already done and sitting under the heat waiting. I paid and waited for her to get it for me from the kitchen, she came out with 3 styrofoam boxes stacked and handed them to me. She started to walk away when i asked if they had bags? She said yeah and handed me one from behind the counter, so I stood at the check out counter and bagged my own food. This was a young girl, and while I understand the difficulties of serving and hostessing (was one for 6 years at 4 different restaurants) I think my experience was, plainly put: moderately annoying. The food was delicious but luke warm (I live directly down the road, less than a mile, so travel time was not an issue), I believe the wait time I was given was severely overguessed. And the usually stocked, beautiful if not tantalising, dessert case was seemingly lacking in quantity and quality from the dried looking pieces of cheesecake and lava cakes...
Read moreUnfortunately, we had a very bad experience here. Of course, COVID-19 has caused stress for multiple business’ and we understand fully how things are.. considering we own small business’. BUT, the cleanliness of our experience had me sitting on my sweater, and not touching the table. The servers all wore their masks on their chins, the tables/ketchup bottles/salt and pepper shakers/etc were all being cleaned with a paper towel. The SAME paper towel. Our waitress did not come back to fill our coffee (at this point, I was surprised we even got the first cup) for over 45 minutes. Oh, we also still didn’t have eggs/toast after 50 minutes. I felt so uncomfortable with the surroundings, we left. Without food. Without anything. We left money on the table for the waitress we saw one time, but man... It was just NOT somewhere I’d want to go back to after experiencing what we did. I actually watched a waitress wipe her sweat off her forehead with her hand, then put her mask on, fill someone’s cup up, and wait on a table. I’ll let you figure out what’s missing from...
