Apologies for the long post, but want to be sure everyone is aware.
We were on the lake and decided to swing by Tuesday afternoon (6/3) to give this place a try. We were disappointed in the Tiki Hut so we had higher hopes that service would be better since reopening. There is not much dock parking available which will hurt business as Summer ramps up (for people boating in). For example, we stopped on a Tuesday afternoon and still had to wait for a spot for roughly 10 mins. We were seated immediately and the hostess took our drink orders, the place was not overly busy but did have quite a few larger tables seated. We noticed that many people appeared aggravated and quickly found out why. After about 20 mins of no server stopping by to bring our drinks or take our order, a gentleman stopped and asked if we had been helped. I told him the hostess had taken our drink order but no one else ever came back. He apologized, said they were short staffed and disappeared. Now I completely understand being short staffed, but after looking around, this did not appear to be the issue at all. There were at least 4 servers (pretty sure I saw 5) and a hostess. Out of these servers, one was propped up next to the hostess (not approaching a table to whole time we were there), two we only saw twice and one red haired gentleman who was absolutely busting his butt. It did look like there was only one cook (who was also busting his butt) so I understand food being slow. After 45 mins of still not getting our drinks and only having 1 server stop by to "apologize" (he did not ask what we had to drink or bother taking our order), we got up and left. I would like to mention that a couple that came in after us immediately got their drinks and order placed. There were two adults and one kid in our party, so not like we were bringing a group. On the way to the dock we got to talking to two other families who both said they would never be back as well.
Long story short, save your frustration go to the Cabana at the Lighthouse if you are looking for lake dining. There is much more boat parking, servers are attentive, and food...
Read moreFood was great, but the experience with Covid going on was terrible. Came with a group of 7 and was told we had to separate into a group of 6 and 1 because of McMasterâs Covid order. At some point you have to use some common sense. Then we bought our 1 dollar Covid masks to walk 10 feet to our seats where we could take them off. At that point we were a little annoyed but we got over it with everything going on. We then ordered our food. Then the rain started, so our waitress (Cassie), who was sweet as can be, told us we can get underneath the bar to get out of the rain. We get to the bar, and are told by the bartender, in a condescending tone, to put our masks back on while we are standing at the bar. Typically we would just say no problem, but there were 10+ patrons sitting at the bar with no mask. How this makes sense is beyond me but the presence of a chair seems to be the trick to prevent Covid at this bar. So at this point we are a little annoyed, not with everyone but the main bartender (male with dark curly hair and black mask). He then proceeds to shut down the bar because he said we werenât wearing our masks and refused our drink orders. So we are pretty hot at this point. Then a waitress comes and asks us what our boat situation is like. âCan we box up your food and you eat it at your boatâ. This had to be a joke. We spent well over 200 dollars at this place and were asked if we wanted to eat our food in the rain, on our boat. This all couldâve been avoided with a little bit of commons sense and a respectful bartender. He would be talking about us to other patrons and waitresses right in front of our face. If I were the owner, this is not someone I would want representing my establishment. All in all, the food was great, and the waitress we had was great, but the bartender just ruined it for us. We may be back but hope to have better service when we spend that...
Read moreMy husband, myself and a couple of friends waited patiently for a slip to park our boat. Once a slip opened, the deck hand was so helpful and polite. We also had our Yorki with us which is a registered service dog. We asked as we entered and were told as long as we did not sit at the bar with her she was welcome. As my husband held her back away from the bar me and my friends stepped up to order drinks. The bartender was less than enthusiastic to take our order to the point he was annoyed that he even had to help us. Our drinks were simple. Nothing fancy. One of my friends asked if she could have several limes with hers. The bartender snapped at her and said only if she was actually going to use them by squeezing them into her drink and not just allowing them to float. He was very rude and demeaning. We then proceeded to an open table. Once there we were told we could t sit there because of our dog, even though another dog was sitting two tables down and we were not at the bar. I moved again and left my friends and again I was approached and said my chair was in the wrong place and we couldnât sit there either. I was kind of blown away by how rude everyone was and the fact that she is a service animal and was kept in the designated area we were told when we entered. The staff all seemed like they only wanted to help their regular customers and we felt extremely unwelcome. We left without...
