Otters Cove Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Sevierville

First off let me say I have been in the service industry for 20+ years and have never felt the need to leave a review. This place was absolutely terrible with their customer service to the point that they not only lied to us, but made excuses for their new staff and were confrontational when we tried to remedy our situation.

Not only was our server new and in training (which is normally fine), but we didn’t end up with the correct food and they were apparently out of buns, which we weren’t informed of till 10-15 min after ordering and multiple times. We of course said this was fine, ordered other things, then saw multiple tables who sat down after us get burgers and or sandwiches WITH BUNS— which makes no sense.

Then after this, one persons order came out 20 minutes before everyone else’s, then after everyone’s finally came out one order was still missing. So, we brought this up to one of our servers with the pink hair and she was rude and not empathetic at all. So, we asked to speak to a manager and the girl with pink hair said she was the manager, which at this point I’m not even sure I believe with how rude she was. She admitted that it was the girl that they were trainings first table EVER, then she tried to lie after and say that it wasn’t her first table to save face because she didn’t want to help or give us a discount for all the mistakes.

I’m not even sure if the girl with pink hair was a manager, or just didn’t want us to speak to one about our experience and get her in trouble, but the whole ordeal was ridiculous and insulting. We also tried to order a carry out, which we had been trying to order for 20 min, with no luck because a server didn’t come back because they were trying to figure out where our missing food was. So, once we tried to order they said the kitchen was closed.

After all this and still one person in our party with NO MEAL yet, she only offered us 10% off our bill and when I tried to say this was ridiculous she got confrontational, which is honestly insane.

I've been coming here for years and through many different owners / operators. I honestly believe this is the best food and overall experience on the lake this year. The food and service have been consistently good over more than a dozen trips. The management and staff have so nice and accommodating. We have had parties of 20 plus without issue. I've been here on a quiet weeknight as well as busy weekends. You never have to wait long to be served. The live music has been very good. Follow on Facebook and try to visit when Chance and Shelby are playing. It is just the right volume to enjoy and still be able to have a conversation with friends. The expansion of the dining area was really needed and they did an excellent job. They have increased boat parking for those coming off the lake for food and drinks. I have tried almost everything on the menu. The Smashburger is very good and so are the wings. The specials have been excellent. The addition of a the full bar is nice. We were seated and greeted up on arrival. Our waitress started out really good. Everything seemed to be going great. The food tasted great and all but then she wanted us to give a review so it could boost their ratings which I found was really odd. They offered 10% off the meal if we gave them a review. She didn’t let us get the full exp. After the review me and my husband both felt rushed. Then my husband wanted to get a bucket of beer to hang out longer and she seemed to have an issue with it. We also witnessed a younger waiter come out of the bathroom crying. When I asked her what was wrong she stated that the boss told her she was talking to the people to much. This little girl busted her rump and she was the reason that most of the people visited this place. She was super friendly and bubbly and she would have been the reason we came back with more people but unfortunately she was fired the next day! This place is all about money.
