Jim, our bartender, deserves special mention for his impeccable cocktail-making skills. As we settled in, we couldn't resist indulging in some of Renato's signature dishes. This was the worst place I have ever eaten. My son was in from California for his Birthday had reservations for 7pm. They took us to our table upstairs. They never took a drink order until 7:30 and never received the drinks until 8 pm. Twenty minutes later they took our food order. At 8:30 pm they started bringing out our food in dribs and drabs. Two orders came out and 15 minutes later 2 more orders, 10 minutes later 2 more orders and finally the waitress realized we were short 2 more orders. The chicken was tough, the 2 clams & linguine were so bad that they were sent back. Everyone ate at different times because of the poor management of the food. I had takeout yesterday, Orecchiette Barese and a French dip sandwich. My wife’s pasta was watery and had a strange taste. The dish was terrible! The Italian sausage pieces had a terrible grey/green color. She had leftovers for the next day but when she opened the container the smell was putrid. She had diarrhea. My beef tasted spoiled and old. The dip was nothing more than an incredibly salty beef broth from the can. All this garbage for 50 dollars! The very nice receptionist lady said the food will be ready in 20 minutes. It was ready in less than 10 minutes even though the restaurant was full!
