TLDR : Do not come to this place unless you expect terrible and unorganized service and threats.
While itâs a nice place looks-wise with decent atmosphere and a dock for boats to access, everything else was either subpar or flat out awful. The service was poor at best and very disorganized and strung out. Multiple times during the 30 minutes it took to get a drink order, the servers pointed out our table but continued standing around idly. Eventually an older woman did take our drink order but when she came back she practically put her nose on the rim of one of our drinks to smell it to see which one it was because we had ordered coke and rootbeer. When she sniffed it, she audibly said âmmm coke.â It was pepsi. We found this out when a very scared and stressed looking worker gave us a refill and told us there was only pepsi. Not having coke would be perfectly fine on its own, but the way she handled the drink and potentially lied about what it was made us uncomfortable. When she served the food after an additional 20-30 minutes, she had brought us an extra item we did not order. Upon us pointing it out and asking if we would be charged for it she said âjust take it.â When the food came and we began eating, the food was simply not good. The chicken tasted air fried, the fries tasted like they were frozen, and the coleslaw was warm and tasted old. When asking for sauces, it took her at least three trips to bring us the right sauces even though we had specified earlier when we first ordered what sauces we wanted. She brought two bottles of ketchup first which were still sealed and required us to take off the seal ourselves. When we finished eating and asked for the check we split it three ways considering we had a party of 6. Most of us paid in cash and one of us paid with card. Those of us who paid in cash gave more than the order costed (for example, one of us gave $50 for a $48.25 order) received cash but no change back. Although we were a party of 6 and tips tend to be required for larger groups, there was no indication that tips were required anywhere and the server had not told us beforehand. When we called in afterwards and asked if tips were mandatory, we were told that they were not. The older woman who had served us stopped us on our way out and plainly demand a $30 tip. When we refused and stated that the service was not worth that much, she justified it by stating that it wasnât for her but âfor the kids.â and used the fact that she gave us an extra order that we had not asked for to guilt us into paying her. When we proceeded to refuse once more, she almost put her hands on one of our party when we began to move again. She then threatened to call the police, stating that she was the owner of the establishment and had one of our IDs. We had not given her any ID. The woman ended up threatening to charge the member of our party that had paid with card which is flat out illegal. When leaving, one of our party members told us that they had seen a man weâd seen earlier go behind our vehicle, possibly photographing the license plate. All in all, it seemed as if the establishment was taking advantage of the fact that we all looked...
Read moreThe location is nice, but the food lacking. Wait was quite long for food, but they were fully booked. And we were not in any hurry. Service was good and attentive otherwise, but they should have a draft list (we thought they had taps, maybe they don't, we weren't looking for them) in addition to the cans and bottles on the standard menu. We started with the nachos, which have homemade chips, but the toppings were scant and very much placed on top. They also used a cheese sauce which felt very much from a can and not much of it, an odd choice if you are coming through the effort of making the chips. To top it off most of the chips were burnt, not a great experience. Real cheese and distributed toppings would be a welcome trade for purchased chips. We had 2 fish and chip platters and one special. They apologized a few times for the time it was taking but it didn't feel too too long to us. The problem was all 3 meals were lukewarm to cold when they did arrive. The special (for mothers day, a steak and shrimp dish) was good all round besides the temperature. The fish and chip platters were middling, the fish was ok but a small portion, and cold fries were just that. It also looked nothing like either of the pictures of filets or fries on their website, they both were cheaper versions in reality. Burgers and sandwiches at other tables looked better and would have been better values, and will probably be the way we...
Read moreWe went for an early dinner yesterday. The atmosphere is great. The food is decent, especially the lobster roll. The service is terrible. We understand when staff is new and inexperienced but this was more than just our waitress; it was an attitude we got from most of the people we asked for help, including the one bartender (who was very busy socializing with her friends). No one was helping this very young, inexperienced waitress and it was obvious that she had no training. We waited forever for her to come over after we were seated, for our first drink order and for her to take our food order. She took our second drink order but we were finished with our food and never got our drinks. When hy husband asked the bartender her reply was "never got the order". And yet we saw several very capable young men looking liek they owned the place (their father does) milling about with their attitudes and not lifting a finger to help out. When addressed they shrugged their shoulders and had no response. Turns out they are the owners sons and when we talked to the owner, he acknowledged the service problems he is having but used their youth as an excuse not to be able to train them. He was extremely defensive of his sons when we suggested that maybe they could pitch in. Truly is a potential gold mine here but with the attitude we received, my guess is it won't...
