Linda's Diner — Restaurant in Sharon Township

Wife and I went there at 10am today for breakfast. While most tables were occupied, the unoccupied tables (at least four) still had dishes on them from previous diners. We waited until someone cleaned a table for us. Right after we were seated, most of the patrons finished their meals, paid and left. So the restaurant was fairly empty at this point. Our waitress even commented that everyone had left at the same time. We ordered our food right away, then waited, and waited, and waited some more.

Meanwhile the restaurant began filling up again. My wife and I watched as at least five tables of new arrivals ordered and received their food. Several ate, paid and left, and we STILL had not gotten any food. (I ordered a breakfast special, wife the french toast - so nothing out of the ordinary). Our waitress kept saying our orders would be out soon, but the food did not show up until 50 minutes (!!) after placing our order. Absolutely ridiculous. And while the food was decent enough, it most certainly was NOT worth a 50 minute wait!

Everyone there seemed to know everyone else, so perhaps the kitchen was serving the regulars before serving a couple of strangers. That's the way it seemed to us.

I do not and will not recommend this...

I'd probably give a higher rating on another day, but the Hillbilly Hash was disappointing. The green peppers tasted off, to me. (And it would be better with some meat and with scrambled eggs instead of the fried eggs I ordered, but that's really not their fault.) Waitress did mess up my toast order, bringing wheat instead of English muffin. Then when she brought the muffin, it was untoasted :( Anyway, it seems like a decent breakfast place, I just didn't have a 5 star experience...

I am a cyclist, prone to 80+ mile rides when I have the time. Many of those miles have taken me through Manchester, MI., and past Linda's Diner. A couple years ago I decided to stop at Linda's to "fuel up" for the last 17 miles home. On that visit and everyone since, I was greeted, and treated as one of the family. The service, and food is excellent, the prices are right, and the hospitality is beyond compare.
