Ridge and rail in Wadsworth is a must visit!! #ridgeandrail #wadsworth

I'm officially changing the name to "Ridge and Fail" If you enjoy a side of chaos and confusion with your long waits and sketchy service, you have found the place to be!! Pros: The pizza crust was decent, and the pizza was cooked wonderfully. Sauce, cheese, and toppings weren't the best IMO and I'm a Northeastern Pizza Associate and connoisseur of the pizza arts. The pizza was the only reason it wasn't a complete Fail. The setting is actually quite nice as well. The building sits on a hill, and the long shadows of late daylight fill the patio area, keeping it somewhat cool in the breath of summer. The bar area was nice, and the two bartenders were very polite and attentive, albeit oblivious to what was happening outside their immediate area. Decor is fairly standard with a mix of country/modern/rustic/industrial Cons: Hello? Service please... It's the type of place you just casually sit down and hope someone sees you, otherwise you could be waiting for 10, 15, 20 minutes before you get any attention. Drink and alcohol/beer glasses were empty at every table, people looking around desperately for refills while one lowly [read slowly] waitress, whose name started with a T, paraded around trying to keep up and make sense of the weeds she developed and encapsulated herself in. The only shock between the initial wait for drinks, the wait for our order, wait for refills, waiting for a check, a box and the overall lack of attention throughout the entire place, was the kitchen had made our food in a timely manner and half of it came out rather quickly. Chicken was dry as Nevada and the Thai salad should be discarded off the menu entirely. May return to see if they improve, give it 6 months. Don't expect much though.

Overpriced. Very strange setup. Nice people but the service sucks because the setup is horrible. Let me paint a picture.

Party of 12 has reservation scheduled and confirmed. Party calls the restaurant several times to confirm with no answer or callback to the messages we left. We hope for the best, and show up on time. If he restaurant says they never received the reservation even when we show them the confirmation we received. They are apologetic and ask us to wait for a few minutes. That wait turns into about 15-20 minutes of standing by the bathrooms while they point to a table another group is at and say we will get that when they’re done. Not a great start.

They set the hostess up to fail by making her seat guests, bus tables and take bar orders. We eventually find out those orders she puts in don’t actually go to the bar as we we told after waiting twenty minutes to then go to the bar to tell them there and that it’s already been added to a tab and they will then make it. Strange.

Side note, it’s about this point we realize the crazy banging from the upstairs is a pool table (or multiple) and people knocking balls off the tables and spilling drinks. There appears to be no bar upstairs since drunk patrons stumbled up and down the stairs throughout the night to go to the bar on the first floor. Again, strange to put the pool table away from the bar and upstairs to make the whole place noisier than necessary.

As we stand in a line to place our orders, we find that about 1/4 of the menu is unavailable (on a Saturday night at the beginning of dinner service around 6pm). Then about 20 minutes after we order, food begins to arrive delivered by what could only be 10-12 year old children. We received 2 appetizers we didn’t order and tried to explain but the kids didn’t know what to do and walked away. The food we did order came out at random different times, so we did not get to eat together. Dinners for some then group appetizers, then some salads and the. Other dinners. That delivery system came over the course of 20 mins or so. Incredibly weird system that will never allow a group of more than a few to get their food together. Everything from the food to the drinks were ran over 1 by 1. I ordered a beer and shot and the shot came and then I had to go to the bar to remind them of the beer.

A few more quicker notes: the parking lot was literally just a mud pit. Nearly no gravel, or anything to make walking in reasonable. overpriced to the max. A salad with chicken ranged from 18 and wild 27 bucks if you wanted to sub chicken for charcuterie that came on a salad (mind you the charcuterie is more expensive on the menu). A regular local beer was no less than 8 bucks plus tax. If the place is as fancy, presented nice, had comfortable seats or looked clean, I would be fine with the price. It had none. water was “self serve” and available in a office style water cooler that ran out and was not replaced while we were at dinner (gone by 8pm and not replaced when we left at 9). staff was mostly nice. The hostess named Nicki was the bomb! She worked her rear end off. As previously mentioned she was set up to fail with an outrageous setup and responsibilities, but she killed it and did it with a smile. Admittedly the service was still a massive failure because of everything above and the fact that they stilled expected tipping even though we essentially did everything ourselves but making the food, Nicki was still great.

If they made some more logical choices and changes, could be cool but for now absolutely will...

My husband and I visited this past Saturday for the first time and I am in love with the vibe of this place. Super cool property (old rubber factory) and really open and inviting concept with tons of outdoor patio space. Reminds me of a couple places on the coast where dining is a social concept rather than just a "eat a quick meal and leave" type thing. We joined my sister and her family for lunch and this was their 2nd experience. They noted it was much better this time around so maybe some kinks have been worked out since they opened? I don't know, but we had zero complaints. And we don't like to spend our money at chain restaurants that are all the same when we can experience unique places like this. Our server was great. She seemed overly apologetic when the pizzas came out before the other orders - but we didn't mind. We prefer to get our food when it's hot and fresh, not after it's been sitting under a warmer just waiting to be delivered at the "perfect time". We ordered an assortment of food - everything was great. However, the pizzas were out of this world amazing. I can see this being a place you bring a deck of cards or board game to on a fall evening, sitting out on the patio with a couple of pizzas and drinks and just chill out while enjoying the simplicity of life. I can't wait to visit again soon for that pizzzza! Oh - extra bonus: I can't speak for the men's restroom, but the women's restroom was super clean and very nicely decorated like the rest...
