Crescent Ridge Dairy — Restaurant in Sharon

Swung by Crescent’s original farm location this past weekend. We arrived just as they opened (around noon), and there weren’t a lot of people. With a huge parking lot and a few picnic tables, it was the perfect setup to soak up the weekend vibes. We got the classic Banana Split and a Banana Bucket, but most importantly, a pup cup for our dog.

The Banana Split came in huge portions, and it started melting before I could even make a dent. On the other hand, the Banana Bucket, conveniently served in a cup, held its own for a lot longer—definitely the smarter choice on a warm day. Unfortunately, they were running low on some of their most popular flavors during our visit, so we only got to try about half of what we had our eyes on. That said, the flavors we did try were delicious, with Cotton Candy and Graham Central Station being my personal favorites.

The pup cup was an unexpected hit with my notoriously picky dog. At first, he wasn’t too sure, but once the ice cream melted to that perfect, slurpable consistency, he was all in.

Western Mass is practically a playground for dairy bars and ice cream shops, where the real competition isn’t about texture—because let’s face it, they all nail that perfectly creamy soft-serve—but rather who can scoop up the most creative and fun flavors. At the end of the day, ice cream is ice cream, so I won’t wax poetic about the texture (though it’s spot-on, as expected). My review is for DELIVERY service only. Product is wonderful, but customer service is absolutely horrible.

I firmly believe in supporting local farms and using glass milk jars instead of plastic. I was thrilled to find Crescent Ridge delivered to my area. The first delivery didn't come in a cooler, because they were apparently out of them. It was a hot day and I didn't have a window of time for their delivery, just a day. Thankfully, my neighbor was home and able to bring inside. I figured it was first delivery, so we would get things sorted out.

The cooler never did become available and they told me I could leave my own cooler out, but driver didn't use my cooler. I worked out a system with my neighbor, but that was getting complicated and asking an awful lot of someone.

Still, I continued with my regular order because I really wanted to support them, and we very much enjoyed having a milk man!

One day, my order didn't arrive and I contacted them. They said the driver delivered and offered no other information. I said it wasn't possible because the empties were still out (he always picks up the empties). I sent a picture of my porch with the empties waiting, and no sign of a delivery. They never apologized or tried to find out what happened. I was charged and never received my order.

Naturally, I cancelled my weekly order. Still, no outreach from the company.

To be honest I usually get our ice cream with no issues but today was not normal. I order 2 chocolate chip cookie dough cups one with Oreos and other with extra cookie dough and a chocolate ice cream with Oreos. One of the cookie dough was made wrong the last item I ordered was a strawberry sundae. A strawberry sundae is vanilla ice cream with strawberry and strawberry sauce. I received strawberry ice cream with chocolate and heavy chocolate syrup and strawberry with more chocolate sauce and whip cream and a cherry. I said politely I ordered a strawberry sundae the young lady said that’s what I ordered. After she wouldn’t own the mistake and offer to fix it I ask politely for a refund I know she is someone daughter and did not want to mistreat this young girl. She then called a another young girl to give me a refund I’m gonna post both the purchase and “refund“ receipts. This doesn’t look right but if this refund is fixed I agree to remove this negative feedback. I don’t think overall this place is bad but this transaction doesn’t look or feel right. The receipt doesn’t say refund. Let’s see they care enough to make it right. It would be a shame to cancel my home deliveries as well over this one mistake.
