I used to really like this place but the owner is extremely rude and I won’t come here anymore. I stopped in a couple years ago to get a coffee and I asked if she’d be willing to donate to the Sharon robotics team’s Chinese auction. Owner was extremely rude and asked me “are you even a customer here?” After I said yes I’ve come here many times, she still said “well I’ve never seen you”. I continued to be nice and said she didn’t have to donate, no worries. After she punched my loyalty card for the coffee I bought she saw I HAD been there multiple times and finally begrudgingly gave me a donation (bag of coffee). Recently, our Sharon HS students went in asking for yearbook donations (business ads in the yearbook or a small $10 monetary donation). Again the owner was extremely rude and condescending, telling the kids, “once you start supporting my business then maybe I’ll think about supporting you!” and wouldn’t even look at their papers. For a “Christian” coffee shop, this is ridiculous. I completely understand if businesses can’t give, but just politely say “we’re unable to give at this time”… there is ZERO need to be rude especially to children. Other issues have come to light… treating their employees badly, not giving the employees their tips (apparently the tip jar is used to donate to their church or when they needed a new espresso machine). Wow. Also goodness forbid you try to use their own loyalty card program… they give you a hard time about redeeming your free one like you’re some kind of criminal or jerk for asking for your free one. They told me once it was a slow week and to please not use it, and was I even buying something else? I don’t get it… it’s your own loyalty program policy?! Owner is also condescending on prior bad google review responses I’ve seen, saying “sorry you felt the need to leave us this review” and “sorry you had to wait one second for your coffee” when someone said it took a long time. Just apologize or try to take the constructive criticism? For someone who writes bible verses on their cups, it’s just appalling to see this behavior. During Covid, you begged for community help and the Sharon community rallied around you to bring in business. And you can’t even give back to the local high school? A disgrace. Deleting any negative comment on FB and taking your reviews down on the page is also very telling. Gifted at Applegate, Allie’s Sweet Tooth and Haitian Sensation in Sharon all rallied around our school’s yearbook fundraiser and any donations to the school. I’ll be taking my business there and you should all do the same. Or make the drive to Oneills in West Middlesex, they have always been the most kind and delightful people when I stop in! And the coffee is...
Read moreNice neighborhood Coffee Shop. Pass the time while sipping your drink and playing board games, or check out art from local artists on sale. The ladies are friendly and will be happy to make your drink your way, just ask! We enjoyed playing checkers and chess before we headed on our way.
My son ordered a birthday cake shake but he called it the Superhero...they agreed and even had Batman sprinkles and I ordered a small iced peppermint mocha which came with coffee ice cubes. The 2 cost us just over $9. Somewhat pricey, but comparable to chain store I suppose.
One negative, drinks are super sweet! So, if you are like me, then be sure to tell them no on the gobs of syrup that go into their signature drinks because a number of full fluid ounces or 2 or 3 of the Torani syrups really do go into each drink even the small ones.
Personally, at home, I use a teaspoon of white mocha, not a full fluid once in an 8 oz coffee. Way too sweet for me. My son did not drink much of the Superhero he ordered either because it ended up being too sweet for him and he's 5! They remade mine with way less and it was better but still sweeter...
Read moreFirst, let me state that the employees are amazing and fantastic. The review has only to do with the coffee. Since we are hurting for decent coffee joints, I decided to roll up to Firebeans to grab a cup. I haven't been there in about 2 years, wasn't a big fan last time so let's be fair. Again the employee was great; friendly, attentive, and fast. Got my coffee and headed out. Well. It tasted like the ghosts of flavored coffees past. I love coffee....I hate flavored coffee. It was like a hazelnut mocha cherry pumpkin spice nightmare. I could only get about halfway through it before surrendering and tossing it. I want to taste the coffee, the flavor of the bean; not the fake flavor of everything else in the world. I really wanted it to be different this time. Firebeans is a local coffee company and that is what I want to patronize, that is what we need. But maybe figure out a way to keep the flavorings out of...
