Black Diamond Tavern — Restaurant in Shawnee

Food is hit or miss. Most of the time food is not cooked all the way or still cold in the center. It’s just typical bar food that is mediocre at best. Staff is super friendly and service is good. *Edit in response to owner. I have no clue what you are talking about with any employee. I happen to like everyone who works there. They are the reason I kept going back. It surely wasn’t the food. When you get a burger that is raw in the middle, there’s an issue. Did they make it right? Yes. But at no point should you be serving a raw burger in the first place. French fries come frozen. They shouldn’t be frozen in the center when served. I’m scared to even order chicken there. This isn’t a one time thing. I have been there several times and have gotten carry out several times. It’s frustrating to drive the distance to the bar and back only to get home and find your food is not cooked properly. That involves calling them, taking it back and driving back home. The rest of your food is absolutely cold by then and half of your family has eaten while the other half had to wait once again for the mistakes to be rectified. You seem to argue with any review that is less than perfect. Perhaps if you spent as much time trying to correct the issues with the bar as you do arguing on reviews, you would get the 5 star reviews you think you deserve. Service was pretty good, but the food was pretty gross. The hamburgers were frozen and have almost no flavor. Very bland. Hopefully, they'll fix the food to taste a little better. (Edit due to response from Black Diamond Tavern. The burger was not frozen when it was served, it was previously frozen and then cooked to order. The previously frozen burger was very bland, and the server confirmed that it was previously frozen. The quality of the food was not worth the cost and the cost of the food should be adjusted to reflect the lack of time and flavor added to make it worth purchasing. A five year old would have said the burger was good simply because they drown the food in ketchup. The two appetizers were cold and the "homemade coney sauce" was very bland and generic tasting. It's pretty bad when I can remember exactly the problem we had more than two months later... Again, hopefully Black Diamond Tavern will put a little more effort into the taste of their food. If effort is not put into making the food better, the prices should be dropped accordingly because I could have fixed the same meals at home for...

What an unexpected GEM! Black Diamond is the perfect name!! Drop dead gorgeous building in a town that is coming back after the impact of coal mining. Nothing but respect for taking the chance and investing. We found a very welcoming atmosphere by the manager and two other staff members. The food was EXCELLENT. The pizza sauce is to die for!!! The deepfried mushrooms were fantastic and were a shockingly generous portion. Go hungry!!!Bravo...all the way around including the ability to sit in the inclosed patio beside the memorial gardens!
