Recently under new owner/management and it's just not the same anymore already. Here's why: Breakfast meat. I'm not sure where exactly Bill was getting his breakfast meat from before, but it was obviously a local market though, that is certainly not the case anymore (or at least it's from a different one). It was awesome before and now it's just average. Portions. Bill was always very generous with his portions, sadly that is not the case any longer. I would guess it's has all been cut down by at least a third overall. Menu. Already the menu has changed, I didnt notice anything new, but I did see several selections had been dropped from its predecessor.
Overall, I think it's pretty safe to say that everyone who really enjoyed Bill's Corner cafe, did so because of the great food, not necessarily the atmosphere. Not that the atmosphere was bad before, just plain. It's pretty apparent that pennies are being pinched now, and the food will be the first to suffer. I wouldn't consider us to be regulars (which there certainly was plenty of), but rather frequent visitors (once per month on average and always for breakfast). I'm just not sure that'll be the case for us in the future. I will say this though... It would seem that all or most of Bills waitresses have stayed, which have always been very nice...
Read moreWent in at noon they verbally said they close at 1 instead of sign saying 2pm .4 tables including us ..asked for poached eggs ..was told they are struggling with poached eggs today . When finishing up my guest was not done with meal and was told we needed to pay and also that they need to lock the doors so ...my guest couldn't finish his coffee and last bite of toast ..which the coffee was cold had to take it to the counter to ask for fresh hot decaf...I asked for a Reuben skillet but I received the corned beef skillet..since we were on short time due to they were closing I didn't want to send it back. I understand restaurants are short staff ...I also have served before. As I have always wanted to just kick customers out.. i don't and would not seeing that we were almost done ..it wasn't like we were there til 1/2 hour pass or more ..The guest I had told long stories ..doesn't get out much.. if ever .. finally found a place of nostalgia for him to remember and relate to . I even apologized for staying 5 til or 5 min pass I even rushed him so she could at least close out and do her monies just so he could finish his meal.. Listen I only gave the 3 stars due to the lack of tact that was given to us ..I understand your doing your best.... that's why I suggested coming there in the...
Read moreNot exactly what I was expecting considering the high reviews, but a decent breakfast place. The prices are great, and the service matched. Our waitress was one of the friendliest I've ever had. She received my three children under 4 with great enthusiasm and delivered some out-of-this-world Mickey Mouse pancakes. My kids squealed when they saw four gummy worms on the plate. (Seriously, how is it that so few restaurants know how to make exciting Mickey Mouse pancakes?) My husband and I had decent breakfasts also. My husband called it "real food" and gave it his nod of approval. I tend to like a little more unique taste and flair, but I finished my meal, so it couldn't have been that bad. The coffee (produced by a local supplier), was incredible. The only other thing that prevents a fifth star is the accommodations. It's a small establishment in an...
