A cozy restaurant off the beaten path set off the road. Were I was taken there for my birthday by a friend who lives in the neighborhood.
We were greeted and seated upon entering the restaurant and placed at one of Shelly's tables. She was fabulous. Very pleasant, polite, friendly, professional. We each ordered a drink while we looked over the menu. The drinks arrived in no time, a Mi Tai and tall Bud Lite, and we ordered appetizers to start. I had French Onion soup and my friend ordered something else. I truly cannot remember it as he was taken back by how good his Mai Ti was. Next came our dinner order, I was just a plainJane and just ordered a burger with fries, and my friend, ordered a dish that looked out of this world. Chicken breast over rice and some type of sauce/gravy and a bake potato. It looked mouth watering and my friend enjoyed every minute of it, rarely talking. I am assumed it was good or I was just bad company.(lol) We, both enjoyed our meals.
We enjoyed the entertainment they had while we were eating and talking about a our childhood days and current events. It had to believe that we had been friends for almost 59 years as this was my 60th birthday. Were did the time go???
The whole time Shelly kept checking us and making sure we were doing good. She was on top of her game. Since, it was my birthday they gave me a choice of several different things to chose from. I choose the chocolate cake which was like heaven. Sweet, tasty, with chocolate sauce and whipped cream...hmmm good.
We ended our dinner and Shelly brought the bill promptly. We paid or should I say my buddy paid and we left. Highly recommend coming here for a nice meal/dinner. It is a favorite of the locals and was a little crowded with others who were enjoying their experience.
It is a little on the pricier side so don't let that come as shock when you get the bill. It was sort of expected considering where it is located. It looks like a country club house from the outside.
Ample parking, handicap parking and seating. They accept cash, credit cards and debit cards. Don't know about reservations or not as we just walked in and were seated. Hours vary so it's best to Google them before heading over
Highly recommend coming here and while your at...ask to be seated in Shelly's section as you won't be...
Read moreBeen there many times, but no more. It’s always been pricey but food was good. This past weekend was a terrible experience not worth the $$. I actually asked it there was a change in ownership.
My waitress was nice but ditzy to say the least. She messed up on my drink and food order. I still tipped her.
The water tasted so metallic I guessed and was right that they serve well water. Apparently it’s filtered but I tasted no evidence of that.
My meal came with a choice of soup or coleslaw. A side salad was an up charge. My entree came with no sides. I questioned why and was told veggies and potatoes were an up charge. I received a cup of soup with a plate of pork loin and nothing more.
My gf ordered onion rings 3 large and two tiny rings was considered an order for $3. She ordered a bowl of soup but received a cup.
Apparently they also serve coconut onion rings but when I ordered onion rings my waitress didn’t ask if I wanted those or regular ones.
My drink was a Long Island iced tea but it came pink. When I questioned why I was asked “that’s a tropical Long Island iced tea, isn’t that what you wanted?”
I’ve been in customer service all my life. It is important not to assume you know what a person means or wants. Clarification of food and drink options could save a relationship.
There is a difference when we dine at family owned restaurants like taco Loco. They are always busy yet the food quality and portions are always consistency and the service outstanding at a fair price they also have live entertainment. It’s just that on occasion we feel like something different. Our mistake.
ThevStoneybCreek Rd house took 1/2 off our bill. Still not enough to make it a pleasant experience. I talked more to the staff about issues then I did tobmybmy guest who joined me for...
Read moreSo when a person comes in to pick up a carry out during COVID-19 guidelines, should the carryout be brought to you standing in the waiting area at the front door? Or should the bartender hand it over a bar full of unmasked patrons and ask the customer to come and get it, like she did to me. “NO”, I Said pointing to crowded bar! Then you’re given option three, a hand signal to walk around the entire restaurant, go to the end of the bar passing all patrons with no masks who are eating, drinking and talking away to pay and pick up your order. Not to forget to mention “Live” entertainment without masks. I've been vaccinated, I want to support small business, but should of just walked out with no food. My wishes for the Team Member to get well and that others are not effected from this unnecessary COVID-19 incident.
NO SURPRISE! Stoney Creek Roadhouse's FB post today..."For the health and safety of our Patrons and Team, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to temporarily close our dining room because a Team Member has tested positive...
