10-24.18 We just came in again tonight and once again it was amazing. I had the Abbey Top Sirloin Steak and my wife had the fish n chips. My Abbey Steak was so juicy and tender. My wife ranks her fish n chips as one the best she has ever had. Keep in mind she is Irish and from Cape Cod MA! We were also able to watch the World Series and Boston take game two! With over 10 beers on tap it was hard to choose what kind of beer I was going to enjoy my steak and the game with. Anyone reading this, I hope you stop by for Game three tonight 10.26.18. You can rest assured that the game will be playing on the four big screens around the family friendly pub.
I had the most amazing lobster roll last night. Made from fresh local sustainable lobster. Served in a beautifully toasted new england roll. They also have around 12 craft brews on tap. The service was outstanding. Very friendly staff. I will be back for sure. You have to just love summer. Finished the night with a pontoon ride on Lake Carmi with my wife.
The Abbey Restaurant is a big supporter for the community. I am a volunteer for Franklin Fire Department. The Abbey Restaurant has stepped up to the plate for over 20 years donating equipment and supplies as well as making our salads for our annual chicken bbq. Without The Abbey Restaurant's help the pancake breakfast would have never happened. The pancake breakfast is one of our biggest fundraising events serving nearly 2,000 people. In our early years they donated everything we needed for equipment and as theis event grew we started purchasing our own equipment. Thank you Abbey Restaurant for your continued support for our community.
There are many other organization that The Abbey Restaurant has supported over the years. Please support The Abbey Restaurant as they are big supporters of us and our community.

Read moreWe ate outside in the rear driveway/makeshift backyard patio that appeared to have been assembled specifically for the covid-wary, but it was decorated very nicely. Our server was extremely polite, but did warn us before seating that there may be a considerable wait because of a couple very large parties before us. Our delicious drinks came in a timely manner, and we enjoyed the fresh air and scenery around us, as the restaurant is adjacent to a beautiful bike path with a panoramic view of the Green Mountains. A few minutes before our appetizer came, the table next to us received the same appetizer of nachos, and we realized that we had ordered too much. We asked our server if, after she served us our nachos, she could box up our entrees to go. We received the nachos shortly thereafter (although an hour after we were initially seated), and they were delicious- not a single chip was devoid of cheese. We did have to request additional condiments, however, because the chips were so plentiful. Our newly designated takeout order arrived just as we finished this mammoth appetizer, and we left the restaurant with full bellies and food for dinner. I would have given 5 stars if not for the rather lengthy - but not unexpected...
Read moreEverytime I have been here the food has been terrible or they were out of food. More than once I've been there and the waitress would come over with 2 menus per person because one menu showed everything they were out of and the other menu was what they actually had. It was ridiculous. One particular night they were out of: hamburgers, steak, basically all beef, no fish, very little choice of chicken etc.... And that was just the meat!!! They were out of quite a few other items as well from veggies to drinks. Needless to say we didn't stay to find out how our meal would've been had we ordered. That was the last time I went and probably will never return. Too bad because they used to be such a great place to eat and have parties, reception etc... On another note their school lunches are absolutely horrible too. My daughter and son have packed their lunches after day one of eating it and they're not fussy eaters. Once again the school lunches used to be halfway decent a long long time ago but now I wouldn't...
