Mineral Springs Pizza Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Sherman Township

I've driven by mineral springs and thought I should stop. I finally made it there and I'm glad I did! It's larger than it looks from the outside and is very clean, spacious and appealing on the inside. There was one waitress and one bartender working but the waitress did a pretty good job of keeping up. Attentive when she was at the table, but busy busy busy! My party ordered poppers for an appetizer. They were crisp and tasty. Hubby got the mushroom Swiss burger and onion rings and really enjoyed it. Hand pressed burger, toasted bun and melty cheese. He didn't say a word while eating it! I got the cheeseburger pizza. Never would I ever have thought mustard and pickle would go well on a pizza, but let me tell you it was a great combination and I will definitely get it again! Had a great flavor meld and it was just a good a leftovers the following day. Even the crust was good the second day. Brother in law got the meat lovers pizza which was very good also. The sausage wasnt the strong overpowering sausage flavor, but rather a nicely herbed sausage and the bacon pepperoni and ham were tasty too. Sister got a steak sub with a dip and fries. Tonight, at Mineral Springs restaurant, all the servers completely ignored us when we were waiting for a table to become available. No acknowledgement at all, not even a hello, a smile, or a nod. Other people arrived and a couple sat at the bar, but we waited for a table for our family of 5. After several minutes, a family of 4 moved from their table with 5 chairs to an adjacent, smaller table that had fewer chairs so we could be seated. A server came out immediately and berated that family while she continued to ignore us. We left, and as we were leaving, that nice family apologized to us! As a resident of this county for over 30 years, I wanted to take my family to a local restaurant that had been recommended to me for our last night of vacation before they were to return home in AZ. Well, that restaurant turned out to be Lakeside Charlie's in Cadillac where we were greeted professionally and courteously, seated immediately, and all of us enjoyed a great meal. As a foodie I am not easy please. I'll be happy with dang near anything put in front of me. But to have it all so perfect is rare. I had an olive burger with fries. Classic!! The burger was seared on both sides giving it that flavor we all love while maintaining it's juiciness. And I would swear the fries were made in house. They aren't, but they were crispy on the outside and potatoey on the inside. Tasted like they're supposed to instead of grease... Our server was attentive without hovering, and her personality is fit for serving. It takes skill to read a room AND individuals. She nailed it. As far as the atmosphere, laid back and not rushed.
