On November 8th around 5:15-5:30 I decided to take my son to Johnnys. I picked him up at my mother’s house and since she lives close to the Preston location I chose that one for a fun, Friday night pizza outing with my boy. I grew up in broadmoor (we now live in North Bossier) and I’ve been going to the location in Preston for well over 35 years. I shared this with my son and he was excited to see where “Dad” grew up eating pizza at. The moment we walked in was when I realized that this wasn’t the “fun” Friday evening at Johnnys I was hoping for. I grew up in the 80s-90s where going out to get some pizza was a fun little experience packed with awesome food, arcade games and there always being something fun on the tvs (family friendly movies, cartoons etc). I walked into Johnnys on November 8th and felt the utter depression that the inside now encompassed. CNN was spewing politics on the single run down tv they had and once approaching the counter I wasn’t acknowledged by anyone. Eventually a tall white male walked up to the register with an attitude that he would rather be doing anything other than his job and just stood there. He didn’t say “hi”, “may I take your order”, absolutely nothing. I finally broke the silence and placed our order. He muttered the total and I said I would like to pay using some cash that I had on me and the rest on my debit card. His reaction was as if I just asked the world of him and he mumbled another team members name to come over and do it. The other employee completed the transaction, said nothing and walked off. I had ordered 2 medium drinks, they never gave me the cups so I reached over and took 2 cups while letting them know what I was doing. I was of course met with disdain and silence.
We got our drinks and sat down. I noticed that they didn’t give me a placard to put on the table but since we were the only ones in the restaurant I figured we wouldn’t be hard to find once the order was ready. We played a couple arcade games on the cabinets that were barely hanging on then sat and waited. While waiting I started to notice how filthy the window sill was with crumbs and other suspicious looking filth which I can’t confirm are what I suspected so I won’t mention here. After around 15 minutes I heard my name mumbled from the front counter. Confused as to why our order wasn’t brought to our table I got up and approached the counter to see one of the employees holding out 2 pizza boxes. I said “we were dining in” and was once again…met with silence. He continued holding the boxes out towards me, I lost my cool, took the boxes, got my son and left.
If the goal of management with this specific establishment was to create a depressing, morbidly unfriendly, dirty atmosphere then they succeeded beyond measure. It wasn’t until this night that I all but confirmed what used to be a fun, friendly outing full of awesome food and a family atmosphere was dead and buried with this location. It was pathetic and if I owned this location would be mortified. I hope it goes without saying that this was our...
Read moreTreated my sister to lunch here as part of our hometown popular restaurants "food tour" . I'm not sure who's keeping this place and it's many locations open but bless their heart. Their flavor palate is broken. First ...we arrived around lunch. There was only a handful of tables clean. The rest were stacked with dirty plates and half eaten pizza. That should have been an indication of what to expect but there were 3 tables of folks sitting so we stayed. In my opinion the spaghetti sauce on pizza is amateur at best. It would be decent if it wasn’t slathered on as thick as it is. The cheese...it's okay when hot but when it cools down you're left with this gummy, chewy substance that you have to choke down. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was especially horrendous. The ranch was like an oily paste. Everything slid right off the bread. Even the dessert pizza was gummy and doughy in the middle as though they were in a rush to through it on the buffet. The only thing passable was the pizza crust. This place is definitely on my do not return or even recommend to anyone. Disappointed isn't even enough to describe this gloomy place. It's just a cemetery where what wanted to be pizza just went and...
Read moreThis is for the location on East Preston Ave. I ordered my food at 3:45 for pickup at 5:15. It was one large pepperoni, 2 orders of breadsticks and a cookie. I arrived at 5:16 and my order wasn't ready. I stood there for 15 minutes waiting for my order. I heard a female employee say, "Order ready for Melissa." Meanwhile the young man working the register was not at his post. He was standing at the same work station as the young lady who said my order was ready. I waited 2 or 3 minutes and he still hadn't brought it to me. Being in a hurry to pick my son up from daycare on time, I said, "Sir, could I please get my order? I have to pick my...." He looks at me like I've lost my mind and interrupts me and says, "What order?" I told him she had just said my order was ready and pointed to it literally on the shelf right in front of his eyes. He continuously interrupted me and told me he hadn't heard her say that. He was extremely offended I had asked for my order. Bad customer service and bad attitude. Working moms order for pickup at a certain time so we can get our kids on time and any other errands taken care of after work. This young man could use a lesson or two in customer...
