So I'm an avid reviewer, and you can check we mostly give pretty decent reviews, always honest and we rarely come across a place that's awful, this was that rare place that was awful. We've come here a few times and they were always good, not great but good but the food tonight was totally the worst food I've ever had, I had better at the hospital i gave birth at. So first things first. When we got there we asked for a high chair and were told thats not allowed which was annoying but fine, and then the waitress said no thats ridiculous he can have a high chair, so thats cool but why tell us no to begin with? Anyway. So small details go a LONG way. Ive worked in a restaurant for YEARS and the chefs always cared about the little things that make a dish pop, yhe green beans tasted like they came out of can, put into a pot and then left to simmer all day with no salt, pepper, butter, NOTHING. You can buy better seasoned ones at the store. It would take nothing to just chop an onion and throw some spice in but nope, I guess the chef was too busy. The French onion looked like chicken broth, wasn't in a crock and was probably the worst I've ever had and we've had our fair share. We ate it tho because we were starving. The baked potato tasted like it was baked two days prior and sat under a warmer for hours. I ate a bite of that, a bite of the beans and one of my pork chops. I left it all on the plate. The waitresses were basically plucked out of the local high school, sitting around doing literally nothing at all. We got one drink until I finally asked to see the manager and she was all "awwwww sooo soo sorry aww" like I was an infant and then had the audacity to just give me a 10 percent discount on my meal when I ate one pork chop smaller than my hand (which i will say was the only decent thing). My sons grilled cheese was the sorriest excuse for a sandwich. I also never received the bread promised with the meal (I didn't really care that much because I'm not a huge bread eater but the fact the rest sucked that's just another thing to add) I would have raised my voice and attitude a bit about paying the measly 34 dollars I did but I think they need it more than I do, maybe to buy some seasonings or pay for a chef who gives a kcuf about his food. I have never really wrote an "angry" review but the way the waitresses all continued to walk around and glare at me after I said something really got me, and then the ONE dollar off a meal I didn't even eat really just ticked me off. It's a shame because it is such a cozy restaurant but you can tell whoever runs it doesn't give a kcuf about it. They have the reviews they have because there one in like 3 restaurants in the entire town but I'd rather eat McDonald's. As someone who eats out every weekend this has got to be the worst experience that we've ever encountered at a restaurant from service to the food. I really feel like I should have gotten a refund for my meal since I didn't even get it all and it was absolutely awful, but again, use that 34 to buy a cook book maybe not sure but yall need it more than us....
Read moreThis warm and comfy restaurant is more than you'd expect from the outside. Inside it is tastefully decorated. The hostess seats you a timely matter. I frequent this restaurant weekly since I moved to this area approximately and year and a half ago. I have never been happier with the service and the food. I usually go there for lunch. The broasted chicken is one of their specialties for a good and tasty reason. There is a slight wait for this meal ad they prepare to order! Always crunchy and moist to perfection. I also enjoy the chicken potpie that has a light creamy filling with large chunks of chicken with peas and carrots with a puff pastry topping for the crust on top of a large ramakin. I believe this is a bi-weekly special. I check before going to make sure it's ob the special. I've had the burgers and fish and chips with only glowing reviews. When you first walk in you can't help but to see all the different dessert choices. So save room. Cheesecake, any kind is delicious. And if you go for dessert round the rice pudding is so sweet and creamy it reminds me of ice cream. There is small children there on occasion but are as well behaved or somewhat better than some parents! Hope you get there and breakfasts day in and day out. Oh and more than reasonable prices. It's all worth it. Hope to...
Read moreJust ate here tonight. First visit in months and looking forward to it for our son’s 7th birthday; never had service issues. Waited ten minutes before a server even acknowledged our presence and approached table. She was apologetic and nice enough and certainly tried to redeem. But then my soup did not come out and I had to ask for it when she arrived with our dinner tray. I had not wanted to eat it that way and it was just back to square one for us with weak service. The real insult on all this came after noticing a “fresh” table behind us get seated (25 minutes after we did), have an order taken and salad brought in less time it took us to receive our initial greet, and this was still before any of our food arrived. Add to that we had to swipe enough silverware from the next empty table, got offered no refills, weren’t asked about the meal and had to further wait for the check. We realized by then that we had been written off. It was even busy and communication among staff was simply lousy. Good food only reason this is not a one-star review. Not going back...
