Shuey's — Restaurant in Shueyville

To start off with a positive; the service is amazing!

Now for the rest; this place is more for drinking, but that being said, there is no happy hour or specials at the time when I dined in. Food is overpriced. Food is maybe worth half of the cost. You can get better food for half the cost in CR. Then add the upcharge for paying with a card. It's like the owners have never ran a restaurant before. Like okay you have to pay to be able to take Credit cards. It's 2023 people. You're basically setting up your servers to be screwed out of tips by the cost of your food, drinks, and your card upcharge. Your greedy tactics to try to recover construction costs within the first year are showing. It's a business; you have to invest some before you get returns. Returns arnt instant. Ownership should take a step back and get real experienced management because this whole experience sucks. Never going back and telling everyone I can about...

We visited Shuey's for lunch. Service was great. Server was very pleasant with a nice smile. She said she had been there 11 years. That says something about the place all on its own. I had a scrumptious BLT bacon was excellent and nice and crispy. I love the peppercorn ranch it gave the whole sandwich up a notch. I also love love love that it was on a hoagie bun not toast. It was refreshing. They have the best crinkle fries I have had anywhere in the area. They had a light coating on them which made them a crispy piece of perfect. I had a sprite and the syrup to carbonation ratio was spot on.

It was also nice to see they did not only have the traditional choices but they had a Korean Chicken bowl. My husband enjoyed this as well.

They had a beautiful outdoor area. I have brought a party bus through at night and it was lit up a glow...

Walking in, was not sure where to go/sit. A couple staff members (All at the back by the kitchen) said to sit anywhere. Found an empty table, and we had not realized until sitting down there was a large sticky puddle on one seat and the floor.

The vibe & ambiance is odd….VERY bright, oddly loud (was a night with live music). The bathrooms are right away one of the things you 1st notice when entering, right next to the kitchen. Sort of just an odd layout. Did not make it over to the bar or outside, but the bar was packed.

The food, not good. Do not recommend the Reuben bites appetizer or the kids Mac n cheese ( is just kraft). For the prices of each item, did not expect it to just be subpar Sysco food.
