COME UP THE MOUNTAIN FOR A WONDERFUL LUNCH IN AN INCOMPARABLE SETTING!

Only in my dreams would this cafe be open year around. HOURS: SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM & Only APRIL - NOVEMBER

When I first started hiking Mt. Wilson, this cafe had a very limited selection of food but this year the menu has expanded so much. Cosmic Cafe offers a variety of snacks and food. They have easy grab and go bags of chips to cooked delicious hot dogs and some of the best Sandwiches & PB&J's (after a killer hike or bike ride up it's all so delicious)

The Cafe is located in the pavilion overlooking the large parking lot at the entrance to the Observatory, they have a plenty of tables to relax and enjoy a meal or just cool down and relax. As you enjoy the top of the mountain FREE WiFi is now available (YAY!)

Staff is always amazing. They definitely make you feel welcomed and understand that hikers/runners/ and or bikers come Hangry (Hungry & Angry) LoL

You may also purchase great souvenirs at the cafe. They have selections from sweaters, tee shirts, patches, and more. Don't leave empty handed ;)

On my last visit the free water station was still closed, so make sure to bring cash or debt/credit to purchase water or anything else needed to refill.

Hope you have a great...

Cosmic Cafe is open for business! You don't come up here for the food, but if you come up here for a small spontaneous get away at least there IS food. They have cold and drinks ๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿงƒโ˜•๐Ÿต, ice cream ๐Ÿง๐Ÿจ๐Ÿฆ, baked goods ๐Ÿช๐Ÿง(pie!๐Ÿฅง), Simple sandwiches like PB&J, ham, turkey and veggie ๐Ÿฅช, hot dogs๐ŸŒญ, fruit ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŒ, and even greens salad. So, you'll be able to have something to hold you over for the next leg of the adventure. The staff here is very nice. The area is generally clean. The folks up here are all nice, something about the mountain air ๐Ÿ˜‰. Ample parking below or at the lot above. There's plenty of picnic tables in the immediate area outside the cafe if you decide to bring your own goodies. The restroom was very clean as well. At the rear of the cafe is the meeting spot for tours and the hours are posted. Don't forget to pick up a daily parking pass at the bottom of HWY 2 at the gas station. Though I didn't see a ranger for the time I was there, the lot DOES have posted signs "All parked vehicles must display parking permit." Do it at your own risk, but it brings piece of mind that you don't have to come back to your car and find a $50 parking ticket๐Ÿ—’๏ธ. It's a National Forest, chip in to keep it accessible and maintained for all! Cheers, enjoy your time at the...

Great little stop at the top of Mt. Wilson, no matter if you hike to it, bike to it, or drive to it. They have simple sandwiches (turkey, ham, pbj, vegetarian), hot dogs, hummus, chili... which they run out of by around 1:30pm on cooler days, and there's muffins, pies... and of course coffee, teas, sodas. There are several picnic benches, where you can eat your food and enjoy the views and surroundings. They also have a stand set up that sells Mt. Wilson hoodies, tshirts, pins, stickers, etc. The prices at the Cafe aren't cheap... around $11 for a sandwich, but when you consider that it goes towards the upkeep of the Cafe and the observatory, it's not bad. From the Cafe, it's a 1/3 mile walk to some of the telescopes, thru which you can look at no charge. I very much enjoy being up there, you feel like you're on top of the world. FYI...Cosmic Cafe is only open on Saturdays and Sundays and is closed over the...

The reason I gave this cafe 5 star is mainly the location. You donโ€™t go there for the cafe and their food, but if you are up there and wanna grab something itโ€™s great. There are no other store there and sometimes they stop over an hour for hunch break and usually they run out of food. So itโ€™s good to have something with you if you are going there for a hike. Restroom + water: Drinking water fountain and restroom available. Parking: There are few parking lot available, so finding parking spot should not be a concern. Road/Drive: Nice drive with recently renewed asphalt. Although you should be careful with the stones falling/fell in the road. View: Fantastic view, I would recommend to have some portable chairs with you to chill and enjoy that amazing view. ***Itโ€™s a bear area, please watch out kids and keep them close. Enjoy!

After a long and challenging hike up the Mt. Wilson Trail, we were excited to visit the Cosmic Cafe at the summit. It's a charming spot, perfect for taking a break and refueling after the trek. The cafe offers a cozy atmosphere with a beautiful view, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. However, we were a bit disappointed on our visit as they didn't have the banana split ice cream that day, which we were really looking forward to. Despite that, the other menu items were satisfying and provided a much-needed energy boost. The Cosmic Cafe is a convenient and pleasant spot for hikers, but be sure to have a backup plan for your snack choices just in case your favorite treat isn't available. Overall, it's a nice place to unwind and take in the stunning views after reaching the top of Mt. Wilson.
