Good people work here. I bring my family here from time to time to just get away and its worth it. It’s very family orientated and I appreciate that greatly. They allow me to pay my bill early so I can just sit and eat my food slowly so I can start digesting it correctly. There is never a rush to leave. The staff can be funny at times. That last time I was down there an older gentleman walked over to me and asked me if I was getting enough to eat. I laughed a bit and stood up to greet him. He looked up and said that I was a big one. It made me laugh pretty hard. Great food, great people. The only criticism that I have if you can even call it that is I have no way to tip them on my card as far as I can tell. I’m legally blind and as such I don’t carry cash because I can’t see the denomination on it. I wish they had a system in place to allow me to just tip them on my card. Aside from that, this place...
Read moreMy wife and I were heading back home from a weekend Bisbee and decided to get breakfast at Morning Star Cafe. We were greeted at the door and were told the was a wait. We waited about 15 minutes and were seated. The restaurant allows you to get coffee for your self as you wait which was nice. The coffee was brewed week. (easier to drink black.) We waited about 10 minutes before the waitress took our order and another 20 minutes after ordering our food. They looked to be understaffed. We ordered a ham and cheese omelet with hashbrowns and toast and a side of bacon. The omelet was ok, the cheese used was processed cheese and the egg itself was still runny and drenched in butter. The hashbrowns were good and had a great taste. The bacon was soggy and the toast wasn't toasted very long and also drenched in butter. I'm sure this place runs a whole lot better when they have the correct staff. It just...
Read moreThe Morningstar Cafe was been in business for years and years and as such, it’s a local favorite for both locals and tourists driving through the area.
Their breakfasts and lunches are excellent. I especially like their baked-fresh-every-morning cinnamon rolls. Hot out of the oven. Yum! But beware… if they sell out you’ll be out of luck!
The Morningstar is really a home-town cafe of yesteryear. They expect their guests, who Matthew & Brenda (the owners) treat as family, to get your own coffee / soda / water from their beverage bar. Really family.
Overall, worth the drive, the relaxed atmosphere, and excellent...
