NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER RIGHT NOW! I will not give a “not recommend” based on shipping policies alone. That would not be fair.
On November 28 I ordered a GIFT package to be delivered before Christmas as opposed to “send now”. The email explained that if I’d chosen the ship now option, the items were to be shipped in a few days. That was NOT my option. The package was for my 85 year old friend who isn’t mobile among other things. Imagine my surprise when, bored, I click the tracking number and find that the package has already been delivered on December 3; left on front porch. A front porch that’s not used because parking for rare visitors is in rear of house. I’m out of state so now I’ll have to try to find someone to go there to get her package before it’s stolen or the animals get to it. First time customer who is not happy with this customer service. If you can’t hold a order, don’t offer delayed shipping as a choice or be more specific by giving actual date range. I know technically December 3 is “in time for Christmas “ but in this case it’s also “ships in a few days”. I’m feeling a little frustrated.
UPDATE: Of course the post office is not going to hold it. It should not have left YOUR premises. I ordered and requested from/of you to delay shipping. Your response is classic. No I will not be a return customer....
Read moreThis is about an online order placed Sunday evening, 26 April 2020, which was delivered Wednesday, 29 April 2020, about 65 hours later, and more than 1,000 miles away. I'd looked pretty hard for a fruitcake with ingredients I approved of, which means it cannot be loaded up with raisins, or heavily dosed with "unnatural" sugars - meaning high fructose corn syrup. I also don't want it fatted up with trans fats. Southern Supreme's recipe met with my approval, and their shipping policy is unbelievable! A 3-pound fruitcake shipped priority mail for $5.00. These days it seems like most merchants charge you a marked up price for shipping, and add handling in there as though that's not just a normal part of doing business. So, clearly, I feel this merchant dealt very fairly with me, for which I am grateful. Now about the fruitcake, which I've just eaten my first slice of. Delicious, and loaded with the desirable ingredients the recipe promises. Finally, the box included a note from the company/family, which includes the following sentences: "If you purchased a fruitcake and you find that you are not satisfied with the quality of the cake, just return the uneaten portion to us within 30 days. We will be glad to replace your fruitcake or refund your money."
