Long story short: it'll be baked goods only from this place, if I ever come back.
Ordered Country fried steak, mashed potatoes and mixed (California style) veggies. Breakfast Taco bowl and chicken strip basket. The steak was the only edible thing on my plate, the steak was mediocre at best but the real problem was the mashed potatoes, they were TWO different colors dark tan and white and looked the way powdered mashed potatoes do when you don't mix enough milk/water and end up burning some of the powder into a clump, the edges of the scoop of potatoes were crunchy and burnt, from the bottom of the pan I guess. The veggies were seasoned well but unfortunately tasted freezer burnt which was very obvious in the broccoli more than carrots. The chicken strips were fine, fries crinkle cut from frozen which is fine of course and to be expected in most diners. The taco bowl was seasoned ground beef with eggs, homestyle potatoes eggs and fixins, the ground beef was overcooked making the whole bowl sub-par. The real star at this place is the baked goods, the coffee cake was incredible soft and warm, with fresh melted cinnamon butter over the top, absolutely delicious. I haven't had breakfast here, maybe that's their strong suit, all I know is I wouldn't stop here again for food unless I was only getting another coffee cake. The staff was fine, nothing bad to say about the wait staff at all, just poor quality frozen food made worse by being poorly...
Read moreThis place is a must!!! When we walked in it was packed, but we found a booth in the corner. We weren't there long before the waitress came and took our order. I ordered the 5 oz steak and eggs meal and instead of having toast, I had biscuits and gravy. I always order my steak medium rare and it's been almost always been too well done. Let me tell you, this steak was done to perfection! It was melt in my mouth soft and seasoned with such care. The eggs were delicious and the hashbròwns had a great little crunch to them that didn't leave them dry. Now let's talk the biscuits and gravy. That was the most flavorful, thick gravy I've found so far. The biscuit was moist but not wet. My husband ordered the corned beef hash and did the same (got biscuits and gravy instead of toast). The corned beef hash had a beautiful crisp to it and it wasn't overly salty. He ordered his eggs over medium and he said they were actually done correctly (which is also rare). The service was great, the food was amazing, and we have officially starred this place on our map bc we have...
Read moreWalked in 10 minutes before 8 (so the waitress that was tearing down the salad bar informed me.) Apparently salad bar closes at 8. Had to go up and explain to the waitress that our table ordered an all u can eat salad bar. She said it was closing and I informed her I am a cook and we have all been stuck in the kitchen so either we got what we paid for or we were requesting a free meal. So she left the salad bar half torn down and in not even five minutes, she came back out again not asking our waitress if our table was done with the salad bar and started tearing it down again. This time she brought a wanna be cowboy out that I'm assuming was the cook and he helped her tear it down. I spoke with my waitress who was nice and she gave me a discount that I asked for. Not impressed. The BLT we ordered used end cuts of the tomato and the taco salad I ordered seemed to have old, dry meat on it. Not going back and if u want great food or at least all of what u pay for,...
