Molly's Cafe — Restaurant in Silver Lake

This was our first and last visit to this restaurant. Had high hopes as it looked like a fun, eclectic little place and I really wanted a good malt and burger. However, our waitress was terrible and the food wasn't very good either. We had to wait over 50 minutes for burgers, french fries, and pancakes, and it wasn't even busy. We ordered a malt, and after 50 minutes of waiting for food (without our waitress even bothering to check on us once or stop to refill drinks) I went to the counter to tell her not to bother with the malt anymore because we no longer wanted it. Then when she finally brought our food she had to ask if we wanted syrup for the pancakes (which we said yes). We cut up all of our son's food, waited a few more minutes, and still no syrup. I had to go back to the counter again to tell her we still needed syrup and pick it up myself as my kid was starving by this point. "Oh sorry, I forgot." She still never came back to the table to check if food or drinks were okay. If she had, I would have told her that my burger was completely cold when it arrived, along with the fries. (Besides being cold, the burger wasn't very good.) She didn't come back until she came to drop off the bill, didn't even ask if we wanted anything else. When I went to the counter to pay, she said "How was everything, besides that the food took forever?" Really?! Won't...

👎👎👎I've been wanting to try this place for a year, Yesterday I finally went, the atmosphere here is very unwelcoming. The two girls that were working had a very sloppy look to themselves, one looked like she just rolled out of bed. I ordered the BLT and the girl kind of shoves her iPad (how they take orders I guess) in my face and says "what toppings?" I asked if they had avocado she says "uummmm I dont see it here so no" and she wasn't sure if it came with fries so I said forget all that I'll take the French toast with eggs instead. She says "ok" but came back multiple times to ask how many French toasts I wanted, how I wanted my eggs and asked me "do you want bacon? It doesnt come with it" I said "uh no just toast and eggs please" she says "ok" when the food came she brought me French toast, eggs, a BLT and a basket of fries.... I told her I didnt want the sandwich but the breakfast food instead, she says "uuuummmmm....... I'll have to take care of this" .... food wasn't good I wouldn't recommend, and when it came time to pay I asked to see the itemized ticket and the sloppy looking girl flips her computer over to where it hit the counter with some attitude..... sorry for rant but my first time here was garbage and i probably...

Cute little quaint Restaurant....very good food!! I had Apple Fritter pancakes and then took a meatball sandwich to go. And my husband had Spaghetti and meatballs which was very good also. I had a cup of vegetable beef soup that came with my sandwich which I ate during my meal. Very Tasty broth...too funny...I mentioned how good it was to the Chef and he said he made it Wednesday and he thought it was too salty... and I said I thought it was pretty good and then he said that he added more water to it and then I said well you could always try adding some potatoes to it or some rutabagas and he got quiet ...and he looked at me and he goes yes, that's a good idea to add some potatoes! It was too funny!!

We also bought some Poppy seed Kolaches to go and also some white frosting. They had other flavors of Kolaches...Apricot, Prune and other frosting also...Raspberry, Chocolate. One of the Lady waitresses was not there for the day so they had two older Gentlemen waiting on us which went a little slower and also a Chef...there was some confusion with the meal and a wrong order. Overall a Delightful time and also checking out their little giftshop and the story of Molly's...
