Wow! 2 years ago, my friend Travis called with an idea. Buying an old restaurant in our town and making something fun! We originally planned on updating and making some sort of restaurant of our own. But we came across our new friend Corey who makes some really really good Chicago Style pizza and his food was going to be WAY better than ours! Ha His pizza place #ChiPieSimpsonville is now in the former ā€œBrenda’s Resaurantā€ in #Simpsonville Kentucky. 310 3rd St. Simpsonville KY 40067 Deep Dish/ Thin Crust, he’s got it all! Check it out!! #ShelbyCounty #Louisville #ChicagoPizza

I don't usually leave reviews but this was probably one of the most disappointing restaurants we've eaten at in a long while. And I am hoping that maybe they will take the constructive criticism and fix the issues. We visited on opening day, and it was very clear they rushed the opening. The waitresses didn't know which table ordered what food, as they came around and asked each table if this order was theirs before they found the correct table. They ran out of sodas and we where unable to get refills on our drinks. There where a number of dirty tables that just sat the whole time we where there, which was over an hour. We ordered the Meatball appetizer, which ended up being 3 quarter sized meatballs, that took 25 minutes to get to our table. The $8 price point was not worth the amount of food you received as an appetizer. Then we waited an hour for our Margherita Pizza and Spaghetti. The spaghetti noodles where so broken they were bite sized, the sauce was cold for both items, and the pizza had the tiniest amount of toppings. We where looking forward to a new place to eat, but I really dont know if we will be back.

As a former Chicago suburb family who have lived in Shelbyville for over 20 years, we never thought we would be able to get yummy pizza again. Last night we were thrilled to have great Chicago style deep dish pizza that was just as good as the pizza back home!

We visited Chi Pie on opening day, and it was clear they weren’t quite ready to open. There was no bar yet, sodas were served out of cans, and the soup came out lukewarm with a metallic taste. The walls were bare with no dĆ©cor, and the small parking lot made arrival a bit tricky. It also took about an hour to get the Chi Pie Special, which showed that the systems for efficiency are still being worked out.

That being said, once the pizza arrived, it was excellent — worth the wait. The servers were kind, apologetic, and really tried to make the best of the situation. I truly believe this business will do well once they get the rest of their equipment in place and streamline their process. Growing pains are to be expected, but the quality of the pizza and the friendliness of the staff give me confidence that Chi Pie will become a great spot in time. We will...

Went to eat on opening day, one thing I have realized living in Shelby county is there are several people who don’t have patience. The food was incredible, I have a thing for deep dish pizza. Didn’t know if I was gonna like the tomatoes but they were delicious. One slice will absolutely fill you up. I got a medium cheese with a topping and it was very good. I’ll definitely come back and bring friends and tell others about this place, I feel as if this place can make it really good in the county. I’ve gotta go back anyway to try out the stuffed garlic bread I didn’t know about until someone else...
