Su Casa’s in Sinclair is hands down the best Mexican food you’ll find anywhere and especially along I-80. Located at 705 Lincoln Highway, Sinclair, Wyoming 82334, it’s a small, family-owned Mexican Cafe where you can taste that their recipes come straight from their roots in Mora and Las Vegas, New Mexico. These are family recipes that have been passed down through generations of the Maes family, made with fresh ingredients and tradition and love that you can taste in every bite.
The restaurant itself is a quaint little cafe, maybe 30 seats total, with about a 10 or so booths/tables. Don’t let the size fool you, the food absolutely delivers. Enchiladas plates, tacos, burritos, and a daily special that will have you thinking twice about your choice, you name it! Everything I’ve tried has been outstanding. The flavors are consistent too. I’ve heard people say they stopped in a year ago, came back recently, and the food still tastes exactly the same. That says a lot!
What makes Su Casa’s even more special is the history. They started back in 1988 out of a small food truck (still operational), which still sits out front in the parking lot today. From that little truck to the restaurant they have now, the Maes family has never changed their recipes or their standards.
Along with being featured in magazines, Su Casa’s has also been voted the best Mexican restaurant in the state of Wyoming and continues to earn other accolades. On top of the food, the service makes it feel like home. The cooks and waitresses always seem to remember you, sometimes by name, sometimes by face, and the greeting is always warm: “So nice to see you!” You can’t help but wonder how they remember everyone, but it makes the meal that much better.
And before the entrées even hit the table, they set you up with the freshest, warm tortilla chips and a salsa that’s unlike anything else. It’s served warm, with tiny bits of cheese mixed in, and it just melts in your mouth. Absolutely mouth-watering.
Delicious food, phenomenal service, and a restaurant that’s truly one of a kind. If you’re driving I-80 in either direction, do yourself a favor and make the stop in Sinclair. This is one of those small-town restaurants you’ll be glad you didn’t pass by. Five stars,...
Read moreThis place is incredible!!! I had the special of the day, which was a beef enchilada, tamale, and bean burrito smothered with a couple different sauces. One of the sauces was their green chili. This green chili was the perfect blend of flavor with the right amount of spiciness. Mom had the shrimp fajitas and I believe that they were the best fajitas I have ever had the pleasure of trying (she let me try a couple of shrimp).
If you are traveling through Wyoming and going by Sinclair and you are hungry...STOP here and eat. You will not be disappointed. They do get busy and you might have to wait or even share a table with others. But for food this YUMMY 😋 who cares!!!!
Update (10/06/2021): We made a trip up into the Snowy Range mountains to lookatthefallcolors. After we were finished driving through the mountains we were VERY hungry. We decided to go to Su Casa even though it added another 40+ miles to our trip. I will just say that it was well worth it.
The flavor of the food has stayed consistent since my last time eating at Su Casa. I won't go too deep into the regular food this time because it was wonderful as always. What I do want to discuss is the desert we had this time. We enjoyed their Fruit Stuffed Sopapillas. They come in apple, cherry, blueberry, and strawberry. Mom had the cherry and I had the bluberry. They were AMAZING!! My sister had something called the Chango which is a cream cheese filled and deep fried burrito that comes with any of the fruit toppings you want. I will post pictures of each.
The best part of our experience was Monica and other staff there. They are extremely courteous and anttentive. I wish that they weren't so far away. I would be there at least 1-2...
Read moreAn embarrassment to New Mexican and Mexican Cuisine. We had to stop in Rawlins for the night while traveling through the country. As context, I have had Mexican food in Mexico, New Mexican food in New Mexico, this food was absolutely disgusting and overpriced. Down to the very salsa roja with shredded cheese and taco seasoning in it. That was a huge red flag. I honestly felt I could've had better food in a college dorm. This is no attack on any of the staff as they were very friendly. However, I would suggest a total makeover on the food and clean your bathrooms every few hours. My children were even too disgusted to use them. The prices in addition need to be reconsidered for what they are offering. You'll get the same quality and flavors at taco bell. The evidence is just in the photos which I chose to ignore. Go somewhere else until they've...
