Okay today was the first day visiting Bowles BBQ in Sissonsville....A+++++....Off The Hook The Number 1 in my book now. Words can not describe this place except for OUTSTANDING!!!! the brisket sandwich with onion rings was my choice and so so tender, taste is great, husband got Philly cheese steak and fries...if you want a true Philly cheese then this is where you wanna be at and experience theirs...my sister got hotdogs and fries, she said they was great and fries was perfect...my niece got phillycheese steak and fries, she said I have been searching for years for a great Philly cheese steak and I have found it---she even told our awesome great waitress Autumn she had been searching and today she found it. My sister and niece are from South Carolina so they made sure they bought 2 bottles of their favorite sauce today. The bread pudding was great and on point to old fashion grandmas bread pudding. So I highly recommend anyone and every to go check this place out. Very clean, pretty decorations, very awesome,sweet, nice, on point waitress, the owner was a nice guy and I asked him please think about coming to Poca and my sister suggested Florence,SC so they could patronize his business. My family and I went here for the first time on Saturday Nov 2nd. Our appetizer was really good , we ordered the potato skins. Our daughter ordered a cheese flatbread pizza , i ordered the 12oz ribeye with potato cheese casserole and mac and cheese and my husband ordered the 3 meat meal with potato casserole and baked beans. Our daughter’s pizza had hair cooked in it. My steak was THIN and way over cooked. I asked for medium rare and I got well done. If I had knew it was a thin ribeye I would not have ordered it. The potato casserole had no flavor at all just tasted like boiled potatoes. The Mac and cheese was ok but not something I’d eat again . My husband’s food was okay but he wasn’t able to eat a bunch of it due to the fact of the hair being in our daughter’s food and turning his stomach. Our total was around $74 and we didn’t even eat but maybe $10 worth of food. I was highly disappointed in the food we had got. The atmosphere was amazing and so was our waitress though. This was a much-appreciated stop on our long road trip from Ohio to Georgia! I was hoping for a good BBQ stop on our way down, and fortunately my husband found this place online as we were looking to make a stop… It was family friendly—we have our 14-month-old and 3.5-year-old daughters in tow. Spacious tables with high chairs available, changing table in the women’s bathroom, and friendly server. Great menu with kids’s options, and the best part was the food itself! It came fast and delicious… everyone enjoyed their food; my pulled pork was outstanding, and while there were multiple tasty BBQ sauce options to try, the standpoint is their house BBQ!
