Tudor's signature style is not my aesthetic at all. But when the gravy and coffee are flowing and the biscuits hot, huge, and the exact right beautiful golden brown - who cares!? But seriously, yellow walls and maroon tables? It's like Star Trek threw up all over this place. The attempt at fusing old country charm with modern elements fail. This may also have been to make you get in and get out.
This place is SUPER busy, especially after church. It's totally worth the wait, though. (Usually, the wait is less than 5 minutes).
I will say the benches and table are a little two narrow and I'm sure are designed to make you just uncomfortable to get you to leave immediately after eating.
If you're new to Tudors - come with your appetite, trying a biscuit is MANDATORY, DO NOT pre-judge anything on the menu. Try what you think will be the most disgusting combination of biscuit filling (?)(most likely you will be pleasantly surprised), and order extras for later-- trust me in 2 days when you're finally hungry again you'll be happy you did. If they survive that long. Tudor's has a way of making gluttony feel like a desirable trait.
The parking lot is easy enough to get in and out of. Handicapped accessible all the way - and mostly flat.
BE FOREWARNED - due to popular demand the drive thru lane was expanded and does run through the back parking lot and the second back parking lot. If the drive thru is busy, inconsiderate @ssholes will not follow the markings on the lane and you may be blocked in. The wait will not be long, but it may be a little...
Read moreI have been a lifelong Tudor's advocate until recently. It has been my favorite breakfast outlet since I was a child. Their management is absolutely horrid and who I believe is the general manager of the Sissonville location is abusive to her staff and customers. I have seen her curse them, yell at them, and bare her teeth at her employees. From what I have witnessed on multiple occasions, the way the employees respond to her behavior indicates an ongoing environment of mistreatment and poor working conditions. Her behavior not only affects the well-being of her employees but in turn also affects the experience and food quality that the customers receive. She treats her customers with almost equally little respect as her employees. I used to actively support Tudor's and encourage people to support them. Now I actively tell people not to continue their patronage of this restaurant because of how dismissive management and corporate have been about these issues when brought to their attention. They did not even feel it necessary to issue an apology. The corporate office has done nothing to address both mine and the community's concern for the issues that seem to plague one of our favorite local eateries. In short, I would advise against giving them your...
Read moreI pass Biscuit World every time I travel home. I have always wanted to stop and try it because biscuits are my favorite. I figured it would be good, because there are a few locations and it is called biscuit world after all! Unfortunately, I was wrong. I had a plain biscuit and an egg melt. I tasted the plain biscuit first and was instantly disappointed. The biscuit was thick with a terrible, bland flavor. There was no saltiness, no butter, no honey to add. The egg melt had a rubbery fully cooked, sunny side up egg and runny cheese sauce on top. It tasted awful and the biscuit on that was terrible as well. I am no longer curious about Biscuit World, and I will not be returning again. My advice would to be to stick to fast food you know or find a nice...
