Steak!!!! Get the steak! T-Bones restaurant has all the clout and commercials but their steak was mediocre. JRs Steakhouse serves the steak you wish you had.
This was my first time getting food here and I can guarantee I'll be back. After my disappointment at TBones I had resorted to Applebee's when i wanted steak because it was consistent and decent but far from ideal at $20-30 Lunch.
I ordered by call in after viewing a menu online. The picture was 3 months old but when I called the item selections had changed. Today I ordered a 10oz tbone that came with 2 sides. The sweet potato fries were generously portioned and crinkle cut for extra texture. I also got a salad.
I ordered my steak cooked medium and it was perfection. Some people may say this is closer to medium well but like I said, perfection to me! Now, I did notice that what I received appeared to be a ribeye but I'm not terribly particular. It was well marbled, flavorful, cooked perfectly tender, and even had those beautiful grill crosshatches. No overwhelming garlic or herb flavors just beefy, juicy, tender. No steak sauce needed, actually I did not use a knife either. The fries were fantastic, not greasy, not salty, no other weird flavors either. Lightly salted lightly dusted for texture. I can't tell you what the salad tastes like. Steak was so good I finished it first but now I'm too full for sides! 😆I did get 2 lil cups of ranch and 1 of requested steak sauce. It cost me right under...
Read moreAwful! I arrived around 7:30pm and was told it would be :25 minutes. :45 minutes later, a nice lady brings my food out.
Once home, I came to realize everything was so overcooked as to be inedible. The chicken livers had more breading than liver and the livers themselves were pulverized due to being almost burned to death. $16 bucks for some extra crispy breading and what was left of the pulverized livers -- unacceptable.
Likewise, the catfish filets were overcooked slivers of nothing.
The only things not overcooked were the green beans and cole slaw.
The place was standing room only packed. Many of the waitresses looked exhausted and frustrated. There was no discernable management on hand to cope with the chaos.
The woman who ordered before me never got her food at all and asked for a refund. They admitted they had lost her order -- $60 order like mine.
I understand they were busy. All the more reason to have owner/management ON SITE to ... "manage." All the more reason to give customers realistic timeframes instead of fantasy timeframes. Don't tell folks :25 when you KNOW darn well it is closer to an hour. Had the $60 food been worthy of a plate instead of a garbage bin I might be willing to wait :45-:60 in the future. In short, next time I'm in the mood to throw money into the wind, I'll go to a casino instead.
No need to...
Read moreWhere to begin ? This was a special occasion for us, celebrating 7 years together . We wanted to go somewhere different and kind of nice, but not to expencive. So we thought we'd try this place for, our first time ever .But it will be our last time eating here! Being honest the only thing that was good here was the friendliness of the staff and the drinks we ordered. The prices are to high for the style , decor and setting of the resturaunt. It looks like a regular burger joint not a stakehouse . The waitress never brought my husband the salad he ordered. The plates are to small for the food, so it was all just crambed on the plate . It did not look appetizing at all . I ordered a cube stake with gravy and onion but what they brought me tasted like beef liver and I hate liver! The gravy on both my plate and my husband's , was running off the plate and we kept getting the gravy all over us . The bake potato they brought me was rotting and under cooked. His Mac & chese was old and you could look at it and tell it had been sitting awhile . We niether one finished our meal and still both got upset stumachs, nauseated and got the runs . ( sorry its gross) but all true . This experience kinda ruiend our celebration for the day . We decided well try to celebrate another day and...
